I'll be there again for the 2004 MINI Dragon Run. Last year a friend road up with me and what a memorable roadtrip that was! This time my wife is coming and we're driving up to Savannah, GA and spending several days there before we head over to Fontana on Thursday. I'm looking forward to another great time and to showing my wife the beautiful scenery of the Appalachians. See you all there!

PS. For anyone who hasn't seen my pictures from last year and wants to - they're here: http://www.vinceandjessica.com/mini/dragons_tail/

Dammit, I see that it is the same weekend as my Not-To-Miss NHRA event in Commerce, Ga again....that bums me out.

Honestly, The Dragon is far more important than an NHRA event (and this is coming from a long-time NHRA junkie)

enough for now,
Ryan

The Road looked Great a week ago - couldn't even tell it had been washed-out!! - fast and smooth ...
... there is No reason for anyone east of the Mississippi to miss this! ... and if you're west of the river, grab a co-pilot and drive all night if you have to, but do this at least once ...

For those of you in the Midwest that might be interested, check out the Missouri Southern Road Rally on Oct. 18th in the Midwest section. It's being hosted by the St. Louis MINI club and offers 140 miles of road second only to the Dragon. Just thought I'd plug it, as it's not one to miss.

Here's the LINK

Click the link that says "Saturday, Other Cars - Non-Miatas" or something like that. I know Kool's car is there cause you can read his front Plate!

Hopefully Killboy will have some shots of the most recent group o'MINIs from last weekend.. I can't wait to get back, already have 2 trips in the works

I’ve talked to a few people who were there last year and suggested that we few very aggressive drivers show up for Thursday and Friday runs. Friday last time was by far the better day because of traffic. Saturday had to may people on the road, but was fun in short bursts. We would be able to drive the Dragon when it is virtually empty and still be able to do the fun runs Saturday people like to do.

Yucca has told me that it’s a great idea and I’m hoping anyone else who is a truly aggressive driver and wishes to drive the Gap this way will join us an extra day early for more fun than the two days of heavy traffic may offer.

- Michael, David – You coming early?

Yucca Patrol Aug 8, 2003 02:41 PM
