Please count me in!

I just made my reservations at the Fontana Village. Can't wait!

Decision time. Drive 500 miles for the Atwater SoloII National event, or 2277 miles to Deal's Gap. Let me check with my co-driver.

Guess it depends on how much "track time" you'd like to have for the weekend

I've never figured out the attraction of waiting all morning/afternoon for a chance to avoid orange cones arranged on a parking lot for a minute or 2. To me, Autocross is like waiting in line all day at the amusement park to ride the roller coaster once or twice. I simply do not have that much patience to wait in line when I own the damn coaster

Andrew – Clo said something about going in Feb sometime. Let me know if this is true because I may join you. May is just to far away.

Saturday, February 14th 2003 will be the first annual Valentine's Day Massacre" on the Tail of the Dragon.

Soon, I will be posting a new thread concerning this wonderful opportunity for MINI owners to spend some quality time with the one they love the most

FYI: "US 129 is being repaved on the NC side, from Tapoco Lodge/Fugitive Dam to Robbinsville. (Graham County) The section from the TN state line TO Fugitive Dam is in Swain County. Let's hope they get jealous of all the smooth roads connected to their county and repave their section of 129."

AprilWhine,
Count me (Jazz) and my wife (Jazzy) in for this April/May 2004 Dragon Run. We'll be motoring down in our MINI and staying at the Fontana Village. An event like this with the chance to really have fun driving the MINI is one of the main reasons we got our MINI -- Bluebird was born 30 Oct 03. We're looking forward to seeing everyone.

AprilWhine Dec 17, 2003 10:30 AM

Added all of you to my list. The count is now up to 124 people in 76 MINIs!

If anyone knows a place to rent MINIs, could you please send me an email or PM? The visitors from the UK would very much like to rent cars.

Thanks koolmini. I've heard of places in NYC, Miami, and Las Vegas, but I'm really hoping for Atlanta. I know, fat chance!

I'm heading to the UK for a run in late February and managed to find a MINI to rent. But it's looking slim for here.

I actually found three places, but two of them only rent MCS.

Here's the one I rented from: http://www.mini-rentals.co.uk/

I reserved a PW CVT. It's hard enough to drive on the wrong side of the road, didn't want to shift with the wrong hand too.

koolmini Dec 22, 2003 04:54 AM

since the moon will be almost full the weekend of the MINI Dragon run
i'm gonna do a midnight run on Sat 5/1/04
anybody else in?

Normalizer Dec 26, 2003 06:57 PM

Okay, I am out going crazy.... just when are the dates for the 2004 rally?

somebody email me at normalizer@roadfly.org with the dates, as I always forget to check these message areas out....

gotta GOTTA come back, as I missed far too much of the driving when I thought I had broke down last year and then got lost trying to catch up to everybody.

AprilWhine Dec 27, 2003 03:53 AM

My new sig should help.

orbhot Dec 31, 2003 08:38 AM

And for any of you who are getting real antsy about the Dragon run (like me), I've posted this countdown timer.
