This highly-optioned car was won in a contest in 2006 by an elderly couple. They kept it for a bit, driving it sparingly, but had little use for it, and gave it to their niece in November 2008. She took it to the beach a few times, before selling it to a dealer in March 2009, as she needed the cash during the depths of The Great Recession. We bought if from that dealer in March 2009, having been driven only 620 miles!
It has been a wonderful car, and its hard to overstate how much fun it is driving with the roof down along narrow, twisty, lush Connecticut back roads. We searched long and hard for a MANUAL transmission, which is much more fun (and hard to find) than a boring automatic.
The car has been fanatically maintained, and looks and runs great. For example: the oil has been changed TWICE as often as the factory recommends; regular tire rotations; brake fluid flushed every 2 years; transmission and coolant flushed per factory; etc.
Factory Mini parts (brake pads, fluids, etc.) have always been used. For example, 8,000 miles ago, a brand new, FACTORY Mini exhaust was installed by the Mini dealer (costing $1226). Additional work since that time includes oil & filter change, new spark plugs and power steering fluid.
We just returned from a wonderful 1500-mile road trip with the roof down most of the way - and the car drives as new. Full specs below (per original window sticker).

The Mini convertibles have a unique feature, as the roof can be closed, partially opened (like a sunroof-see pic), or fully lowered.
It has been an incredibly reliable car, giving us no problems. The rare color combination of a blue top sets off the silver paint and blue/silver interior.
Reliable, fun, safe and low cost of ownership. It just sailed through its recent emissions test. Price is only $4750 for this wonderfully clean, unmolested car.
