This is a very clean, mechanically sound, low-mile, mostly stock, unmolested 2004 Mini Cooper S (R53) that I bought new in late 2003, drove happily for 11 years and then sold to my son for a 4-year period while he attended grad school in CA. He’s off to a new job in NYC and doesn’t need/want a car so it’s back to me. I was considering keeping it as a third car for Sunday morning romps, but I’m 66-yo and (sadly) prefer driving something a little softer these days. So it’s time to pass the baton to another Mini enthusiast to enjoy the car. I’ve owned a lot of cars and this one is, by far, the most fun to drive.

General
  • Mechanically sound, runs great, everything works (except…. see below)
  • Six-speed manual transmission, shifts great, no synchro issues
  • Original clutch and supercharger, both working fine
  • Very nice (but certainly not perfect) paint, interior, and cosmetics
  • 67,675 miles (approximately)
  • Always a west coast car (Seattle and Bay Area) so it hasn’t seen snow or ice
  • No accident history whatsoever
  • Serviced regularly (either by myself or competent shops)
  • Clean title
  • Garaged in Bellingham WA (90 miles N of Seattle)
Factory Options
  • Electric Blue Metallic paint (body color roof, black mirrors, no stripes)
  • Lapis Blue Gravity leather interior
  • Cold weather package (heated washer jets and mirrors)
  • Anthracite interior trim
  • Sport package (DSC, sport seats, fog lamps, spoiler, 17” wheels, xenon headlights)
  • Multifunction steering wheel (cruise and audio controls)
  • No sunroof (which I consider a big plus in this car)
Things I’ve Added
  • Alta V2 15% supercharger pulley
  • M7 Tuning front strut tower reinforcement plates (towers show no “mushrooming”)
  • OEM color-matched carpeted floor mats
  • OEM rubber floor mats
  • OEM aux audio input kit (headphone-in jack to audio system)
  • OEM euro-spec lower dash switch panel (adds extra switch for rear foglights)
  • OEM center console organizer (creates storage area in center dash like later models)
  • OEM euro-spec under dash storage organizer (creates extra storage under steering wheel)
  • OEM Anthracite and black cup holders (that are both pretty dorky - neither installed at moment)
  • Honda S2000 radio antenna
Misc
  • Original owner’s manual and all documents that came with car new
  • Original two regular keys and plastic wallet key
  • Bentley service manual
  • Recent new battery
  • Recent brake pad replacement
  • Recent regular service at local Mini specialist shop (who commented that car was in very nice shape)
  • Tires are mixed bag (all summer): Front Bridgestone RE760’s are on last 5K, one rear RE760 about half-worn, one almost new BFGoodrich G-Force Sport
Only thing not currently working properly is the driver’s side electric door lock. It will electrically lock, but won’t electrically unlock so you have to use the mechanical key to unlock the driver’s door. (Been this way for five years….it probably needs a new actuator.)

Last picture below is the car in the showroom as I bought it new, others taken a few days ago. Happy to answer any questions via PM. Thanks for looking.
