Up for sale is this 2003 base model Cooper. The CVT transmission is about ready to fail. It is good below 45 and above 70, but definitely needs to be rebuilt or replaced. The car was drivable until mice chewed into the engine wiring harness and fried the engine computer (DME). I have repaired the damaged wires and attempted to get a used DME matched with the car's VIN, but it's still not starting. The engine cranks but doesn't fire. At this point, I'm not sure what needs to be done to get this moving again.

On the other hand, this is a low mileage example with a very clean body and good paint. The car is a two owner, purchased with around 35k miles, and has almost always been stored inside since purchase. There is only one minor dent on the edge of the drivers door that can easily be knocked back out. The engine was running flawlessly and the rest of the mechanical components are good. Other than some light wear on the driver's seat bolster and the steering wheel, the interior looks great.

This car would be a great contender for a manual swap or for someone needing a low-mileage non-turbo 1.6L engine and/or a clean R50 body for a project. Price is OBO.
