Put over $3K+ into the car including a new alternator, timing kit rebuild, exhaust, only to have a no start condition. Dealer diagnosed a broken connecting rod and piston in cylinder 1. Rather than rebuild (even after the money invested in the timing chain replacement), a new engine was offered due to the high mileage and unknowns. The price was more than we were able to swing, so we are looking to move the car (hopefully in its entirety before parting it out). We were actually holding out hope to fix it, but it's not going to happen for us.

Car does have it's blemishes (after all, it's 7.5 years old R56 with 117K+ loved miles), but it's been well cared for us since we put in our order sheet and watched its travels across the pond until delivery.
