This is an update from this past fall when I was thinking about selling the car. I am now selling the car for sure and would like to sell it quickly. I'm asking $13.5K but am flexible on the price. The car is British Racing Green over Tuscan Beige. My father bought the car new in 2010 and it has been mine for the past 2.5 years. I've got all of the paperwork/repair receipts/printouts since new. It's been driven hard on occasion, but very well maintained. All open recalls have been done.
Modifications:
- Hotchkis rear sway bar 19mm
- NM Engineering lowering springs
- Alta hot side boost tube
- Enkei Classic Compe gunmetal 16 inch
- Helix short shift adapter
- Craven speed shift well cover
- Billy Club shift ****
- Rear muffler delete (it sounds very good imho, and we put on an almost trapezoidal tip that fills the space perfectly)
- K&N panel filter
- Stubby antenna
- It also comes with the stock 16in Mini wheels with good winter tires
I think that's it. So, nothing crazy, but I think it's a nice set up. The only other modification was to the interior. I really didn't like how there were three different colors of beige in the stock interior - the seats, the door panels and the door armrests/pieces on the dash. When I first got the car, I covered the arm rests and those few dash pieces in green suede. It looked fantastic but now the glue has failed after many 90+ days and it needs attention. You can see what it first looked like in the pictures below.
The picture immediately below is of this spring after a nice clean and wax and BEFORE the NM springs. The picture on the hill is about a month ago (July 2014) at the PVGP. The car wasn't very clean but it does show (more-or-less) how it sits with the springs. The interior shots are of right when I did the green suede but, other than the glue failing, the interior is in much the same shape. There is VERY minimal wear on the driver's seat but nothing more than you would expect at 45K.

Also - here's a link to an upside-down video of the exhaust note:

This was from the day it was done. It's actually smoothed out a bit since then.
The good:
- Paint is quite good overall, some chips on the front and minimal scratches on the body (kind of unavoidable driving it daily) as well as a mystery scuff on the right rear bumper that appeared after winter 2013
- The leather on the seats is still fantastic
- It's a Mini, it corners like a dream, especially with the rear sway bar
- You can put the top down
- Stock wheels have Hankook winter tires that have about 1.25 winters on them
- Enkei have no curb rash, but one small nick from a stupid tire shop guy

- New ceramic pads and rotors all around this past fall. The car says the brakes are coming up on service but the shop just didn't reset the light and I haven't bothered going through the reset protocol
The less than good:
- The summer wheels (Enkei) need new tires. The tread isn't terrible on them but they're old and getting dry. They're also lumpy and cause a bit of a shake around 70 every once in a while. I also do not have the TPMS sensors on these wheels so you currently have to put up with the indicator on the dash.
- Stock wheels were chewed up a little bit by a bad foot on a tire machine but, they clean up well and are good for winter wheels
- There is also a tiny chip in the windshield on the driver's side. It bothered me at first but now I don't even notice it and it's not DIRECTLY in your line of sight but pretty close
- Hotchkis sway needs to be re-greased (it's one of the usual spring activities along with putting on the summer wheels) so it currently makes a bit of noise
I've come to a deal on the car I want and would like to get this sold quickly so I'm definitely open to offers. Call, text, email, message whenever.
Thanks for looking!
