2006 MINI Cooper S - complete mod package
2006 MINI Cooper S - complete mod package
Price: $28,800. Original owner. Non-smoker. Ordered from Mini of Mountain View in November of 2006. The last of the 2006 Supercharged Cooper S's. The car has the factory aero body kit (front & rear bumpers and side sills). Other options: HID xenon headlights, fog lights, the convenience package (auto-dimming mirror, garage opener, auto-wipers), cold weather packagage (heated seats, heated mirrors and headlight washers). Upholstery is grey cloth. Wheel are the 17" factory "web-spokes". Factory limited-slip differential. Cosworth power package: It produces more torque than John Cooper Works package, even with the stock exhaust. Here are the details:
Cosworth flowed, ported & polished head with stronger springs, Cosworth matched intake manifold, Cosworth head gasket, M7 ARP head bolts, Schrick Cam, M7 400cc injectors, M7 59mm throttle body, M7 Oil catch can, M7 Engine Software, M7 180 deg thermostat, M7 16% super charger pulley, M7 2% crank pulley, M7 DFIC Intercooler with ceramic coating underneath, M7 Air Plate Diverter, M7 Strut tower brace, M7 Strut tower reinforcement plates, camber plates, M7 Under strut bracing, Tensioner stop, H-Sport lowering springs, H-Sport (I think its 28mm) rear sway bar, stock exhaust. It currently has a Weapon-R ram air-intake installed, but the car will come with the M7 DDM Intake as well so the new owner can install either.
Shocks are KONI (amazing damping and ride) and the tires are Bridgestone Potenza. I purchased a 3M clear bra frontal protection kit, plus clear headlight protection. This comes with the car, but has not been installed and it will be up to the new owner to choose whether or not to install it! All the performance modifications were installed professionally by The Custom Mini Shop (nice guys) after the factory recommended break in period - about 1,200 miles. Driving impression (this part is my opinion only): having owned high-performance vehicles including numerous Porsches, I can say that the result is every bit as enjoyable (and more enjoyable!) to drive as other high-performance cars I driven (including late model Porsches). It feels like there is an abundance of torque from the powerplant, acceleration is much, much better than the regular Cooper S and the handling is impeccable. The combination of the KONI shocks, springs and Bridgestone Potenza's produce a ride that is LESS jarring than factory sport suspension & tire setup. The cost of the project was in the vicinity of $42K. If you are looking to build or own a street modified/tuned R53 Cooper S and like the color combo I’ve chosen, this car will put you way ahead for the money. Perhaps all it needs is an M7 muffler to replace the stock muffler?
