Go to galves.com, pay the small fee, and find the going wholesale auction prices for this area. Then if your going to sell privately, add a bit to the price.

Don't pay a fee to find out what to ask for your car. See what they are asking on AutoTrader. Here it is in my area.

good luck
Also, look at the "Completed Items" listings on eBay. Don't consider the auctions that didn't get any bids, because the price you'll see will just be the starting price that the seller was asking for, which is useless, as Chows pointed out.
But *do* consider the auctions that had bids on them, but didn't meet the seller's reserve price. The bids at least show what people were willing to pay, even though the bidding didn't meet the seller's idea of what he thought the car was worth.
There are over a dozen 2003 Coopers in the "completed auctions" list right now that actually had bids on them, and for most of them, the bidding went up to the vicinity of $10k or so, so that's probably a fair value to start with.
Interestingly, "Silk Green" and "Velvet Red" seemed to command a pretty good premium over the more-common colours. There was a VR that sold for 15,700, and a Silk Green that went for 14,700, although the fact that they only had 20-30k miles on them probably helped as well.
