I'm looking for a set of cheap (i.e., affordable) 17" wheels for a winter setup for an R56. They can be road rashed or pink for all I care.

 

I have a beat up set of HP Hurricanes (Off my old HONDA) you would need to find some centeric rings for them but, does $150 sound good. Not bent, but curb rashed and stained.

I'd really want TPMS, too. I'm spoiled by my R56 technology. Thanks for the offer, though. Should've mentioned that in my original post.

 

Too bad it's not an R53. I have the factory 16" S-winders with TPMS going for $200 for the set. They need cleaned up, and the snow tires that are mounted need replaced, but would make a good set of winter wheels.

Well, I've done it, now! I bought a new car tonight, and it's not a MINI. In fact, It's not even close. The bad news is this means I have to do something with my MINI. It's a lease, so I was going to give it back next month, but now I think I'll sell it if anyone is interested.

Many 5280 members have seen it. It's an 09 S hardtop with a JCW tuning kit. Lightning Blue with a black top, and less than 21000 miles. I haven't done the work to find out what it's worth yet, but I have to at least meet the residual. It's in great shape, and has been very well cared for. I'm willing to make someone in the group a deal, if there is any interest. Let me know what you think it's worth, and maybe we can work something out. Otherwise, I'll just turn it back in to Schomp.

I'll post a picture or 2 in the next couple of days. If there is any interest, shoot me a note. I really would like to see it stay in the community!

You probably won't be surprised to hear that as much as I enjoy the MINI, what Elinor and I will REALLY miss is the people we have met in the community. MITM, Yalla Yalla, and our visit to Rambler Ranch are among our favorite events, but the trip last May to the Black Hills really stands out. That was a truly outstanding group of people! Elinor wanted me to keep the MINI, just so we could still participate in the MINI community.

Besides, I have long wanted to go to Branson! Can we still come, if I promise to keep my distance when we're driving, and park away from all the cool cars?

 

Well, a sad day indeed - but anyone wanting to buy this car will be very happy. I don't have enough space in this post to explain just how well this car has been taken care of.

I also can get great deals on paintwork if you're looking to change your roof color, totaly respray the car, or just freshen up some old damage. The work will be done at my buddies shop outside of brighton, here's an example of a custom job we did not to long ago on a 72 Beetle.

Yes, it is the time of year for Giving. This year we will hold the 8th Annual Children's Hosptial Run for Charity. This is the time of the year when MINI5280 Members and friends collect gifts and toys for the less fortunate children who are in the hospital and being treated.

Please mark your calendar as follows:

> Meetups will be North and South as before
> Arrive at Children's at 11 am
> Bring unwrapped, original toys for kids ages 3 to 13
> Your children, unfortunately, will have to stay in the lobby of the hospital (and will not get a tour) due to safety (health) rules. This is normal.

Watch this space for more information and a flyer which you can post at work with a box to collect from others. As always, we will park our MINIs right in front of The Children's Hospital for pictures.

I bought this system used but it has all of the parts and is great condition, this is the stealth black version with the oval exhaust tip. I have all 5 pieces (downpipe, front junction, cat/resonator, back tube, muffler) and all of the clamps. The exhaust sounds great and allows the turbo to spool up faster. I would keep it but I need new front brakes and tires more than I need the exhaust. PM me if interested.

I have the following items for sale. All of them came off my 09 R56 S:

4 Koenig 16" rims with Yokohama W Drive winter tires AND TPMS sensors. $450 - COMMITTED
I have no clue how many miles are on the tires, but they were used for 2 1/2 seasons. They went on at the last moment, and came off as early as I could justify. When they last came off, the car had 15 or 16K miles, so it's clear they didn't have many miles on them. I would estimate 6 to 7K miles.

The wheels are in EXCELLENT shape!!
