what the??

picked up my new countryman s friday night. everything has been great so far.

on my way to work this morning, while entering 76 on a ramp, i saw something fly off the front of the car. it looked small and i thought it might be an errant piece of clear bra or something. i got to work and looked, and it was one of the chrome headlight borders! i guess the wind caught it just right?

i'm going to call my MA this morning when they open, but wtf? i bought from loveland so i hope they will just let me drive over to schomp to get a new one because i work in littleton anyway. annoying!

Geez, that is annoying, Jen. Unacceptable that they didn't attach the headlight ring correctly!

Make sure you look over the bonnet and the roof really well to make sure that ring didn't scratch the paint as it was flying by.

i will double check - it actually seemed to fly almost directly to the left and up, and i didn't hear it hit anywhere, but good idea.

more frustrating is that neither dealership in CO stocks the part, so i have to wait a couple of days to get a new one installed.

Odd... you'd think that most every exterior part would be stocked.

I remember a slogan of yore that went something like:

The parts falling off of this car of genuine British manufacture.

But does the chrome like you?

I'm sorry, that is just a horrible thing to have happen, and on the fourth day of ownership, no less. My only bit of totally unqualified advice is to not let this little incident have you worried about other pieces falling off. You got your bad luck out of the way right away, and that's that.
