Driving from Denver to Salt Lake City
Driving from Denver to Salt Lake City
I wonder, has anyone in the club driven from Denver to Salt Lake City? We're planning a trip later in the year, and are looking for advice on which route to take. Time will not be a factor, so we could take back roads.
Yes. Your choices are limited. But good:
I70 to I15, then go right. Take the cutoff at Salina.
I25 to I80, then go left. It gets pretty in Wyoming. Lots of bugs tho.
Denver to Winter Park to Kremmling to Steamboat to Craig to Dinosaur to Vernal via US40. Then North to Green River, then west on I-80. It will take longer but the ride is nicer.

Fastest (time wise), I-25 to Ft. Collins, 287 to Laramie, I-80 to SLC. Be sure to stop off in Ft. Bridger and tour the grounds. Est Time: 8 1/2 hrs. Actually Jonathon's I-70 to I-15 is way too long, about 10-11 hrs. Better is I-70 to Hwy 191/ Hwy 6 to Price. About 9-10 hrs. Not familiar with the Hwy 40 route, but looks like a pretty drive.
