Boulder MINIs?

I've seen a ton of Minis in Boulder since I got back in Aug, and I was wondering how many of them are on here? There are a fair few that have some mods done, so I figure they've gotta be lurking somewhere... I'm about to start handing out flyers or something to try and get to know the peeps so we can do runs and meets and stuff. Coming from San Diego, we had a huge Mini culture out there and it's sad that it's so dead in Boulder, even though there are a lot of them!

So if you're from Boulder and you own a Mini, POST UP!

Cheers!

We live up in Ned and had the Purple Haze Cooper (we sold it about 2 weeks ago), but our new Clubman is on its way!

Puma, I have an idea

that will help. You need to get some MINI5280 business cards (and some of the MITM4 cards now, too) from Rick, Chuck or myself. Then, you can TAG all the cars you come across and send them to us. Whether they get to the MINI5280 site, NAM Forums, MITM site or otherwise, they will find the network they may not now know about. Let us know when we can get these in your hands.

Otherwise, it may just be that the folks you are seeing actually bought their MINI for transportation, rather than for show or sport or fun. (Sigh)

That works. I'm thinking I'm gonna try and start a Euro cars club at CU since I'm here and there seems to be some interest. Might just do some advertising for that too while I'm at it. I suppose I can get those cards from you guys next time there's a meet? And I can actually come (eg. don't have a test the next day... ).

Some years ago (not that long ago)

there WAS a Eurocar club in Boulder. I went to a meetup one day right on campus. Cannot remember the name but if I can find them I will post info.

For that matter, you could do a 'campus club' sub-section of MINI5280 and then you can instantly connect the campus folks with 5280. Heck, that provides new opportunities for rides and events for us club members. Like to the sororities and stuff.

Boulder Minis - Coffee and Cars

On the first Saturday of each month (I believe March or April through October) there is a coffee and cars get together at Cino's at the corner of 95th and Arapahoe in Lafayette. I've been there once with my Mini so I'm no expert but if that event is still happening it would be a great place to meet some folks from the area that share your interest/passions for Minis/MINIs are other great euro cars.

There is a separate thread in this forum about Cino's Coffee and Cars which will give you some background/more details.

Does anyone know of anyone in Evergreen that have Minis? I used to live there before I joined the Army, and am planning on flying in for MITM in August. Im hoping to rent or borrow a Mini for the weekend, if not, rent a car and join in the fun with some friends that are driving out from South Carolina.

Thanks, for looking for me, Bryan. I'm Dave, by the way, I don't know why I keep forgetting to sign my own name to posts

Speaking from experience of living there, taking 285 from Evergreen down to the Springs is a beautiful twisting road

I finally drove to Nederland yesterday. Wow, that's a beautiful drive, and FUN.

Just figured I'd resurrect this thread while I'm on my lunch break.

Good idea to raise the dead.

To help out, two pictures. Of course I live in Louisville but close enough. The wife works in Boulder (that counts).

I put on my new wheels and tires. 09 JCW Challenge Wheels with 215/45/17 Nitto NeoGen. Really quiet tire compared to Dunlop RFs and even the GY F! GS-D3s.

On my 07 MCSa.

On the MINI:

Nice Don - those Challenge wheels look awesome!

Nederland is a fun drive, although Boulder Canyon is probably the least fun of the 3 roads to get up there. I'd recommend Coal Creek Canyon up, north on Peak to Peak to Nederland, north to Ward, and down Left Hand Canyon (take a right on Old Stage road if you want too).

Hmmm...I'm not a big fan of Left Hand, but I'm willing to give it another try.

Is Left Hand paved? I seem to remember a Jeep Wrangler (my son) sliding into a tree up that way.

Sounds like a nice drive if it is paved.

Thanks on the wheels, they do rock.

It is paved, and recently at that - so nice and smooth. A good mix of tight turns and high-speed sweeping turns. A nice little loop to do is also:
