*makes a note to himself not to walk too close to her car because he doesn't want her to try and smother him with the silk cover*

As with most picnics and tailgates I certainly do recommend your own seating; be it a blanket, the seat of your car, the boot or collapsible chairs and such. We've got next to no luxuries available, so bring what you need.

See you first thing.

What Fun!

Thanks to the organizers of today's run. It was our first and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Sorry we left early, Jim was taking those downhill twisties just a wee fast and my egg-salad sandwich suddenly didn't agree with me.

See you all next time - great to meet you in person, finally!

Thanks :)

Had a blast on today's ride, perfect, not a fast pace, but just a nice pace to get a nice buzz on riding twisties. Pleasure to finally meet those who all I saw was text and usernames Thanks Old81, Innercoolest, et al for a great time. Look forward to next time.

Nice pictures all, really super nice drive, not to long and great twisty roads. We even had some opportunity to stretch our MINIs legs if we wished.

Vicky and Shelly, I hope your hearts have stopped pounding after your narrow escape. You just cannot trust those SUVs or 4WD Trucks, whatever tried to T-bone you.

Vicki, special thanks for bringing the grill, but I have a bunch of brats and Italian Sausage to eat this next week.

Pictures are here for the M is for MINIs run.

Nice to meet and see new faces with MINI5280, great way to get to know one another.

Hopefully I will see some great Sunset shots from the folks who went to the after dinner drive.

Don

Great ride all! Always a pleasure seeing everyone out there even if I don't talk much.

Didn't get too many pictures but here's my take on the ride so far. Have to wait til next weekend to see if any pictures on the P&S turned out.

edit: I had to shrink them because the file sizes are so large. If anyone wants the originals just PM me but beware that they are around 8MB each.

Paul, excellent set of images.

I like the Canon richness compared to the Nikon. Good work in HDD and Photoshop. I presume Photoshop or PS Elements, looks great.

What P&S were you using other than the Canon DSLR?

Joe, looked at your album, nice set of pictures in the mirrors, very sharp. I see you caught both buses in Central City/Black Hawk. lol.

Some great photos of the ride! It looks as though it were a perfect day for it. Wish we could have been there. Should be less than a month until we take delivery though.

What I want to know is: Wherever are the oxy blue MINIs? ;P

Thanks Don. Didn't use PS or PS Elements. I used PSP X2 (Paint Shop Pro X2). I've used PSP since about 1995. I use the GIMP once in a while too but not as often as I'd like. Would love to give PS a try but I hardly have time to learn new software. The only PS I can tinker with is PS 7 on the work laptop.

The P&S is a Canon Powershot A720 IS. Yes, I'm a Canon fanboy hehe. My sister uses a Nikon but I just tell everyone she's adopted if they ask about her Nikon.

The only time I used the P&S was the drive after lunch. I was only able to snap a few shots off because it was hard trying to get shots while going through the twisties hehe. I figure I wouldn't be as heart broken if I dropped that camera out the window if something bad happened.

Great pictures everyone! I always see better pics from everybody else than anything I ever take. Glad we could make it. As always we had a great time and it was good to see everyone. Oh, and thanks Shelly, for the birthday song! Man, I feel old today.

So I had an extra few minutes before I had to head out to work and I uploaded the pictures from the point and shoot camera. Only uploaded 5 pictures. They're on the tale end of the original photo gallery. Link below in case you don't want to scroll up for the original link.

Just be happy that we sang to you yesterday instead of waking you up with an early morning serenade of the birthday song and then asking you to drive up to Mt. Evans.

Great pics everyone. Don, again, you seem to have every angle covered on the rides. Wish I could say I was as good as taking pics as I was driving, but I just don't have those type of skills.

Well, I wanted to say thanks to everyone that came out yesterday. For the morning run we had 26 MINIs, 3 Minis and one Mini body on a trailer. That's a total of 30 cars, wow!

We've got a few pics to share also, but not many. This link has both the morning and evening ride.

Thanks again to everyone that came out, we had a great time!
