Upgrade time.

Okay, my better half is wanting to look even cooler than she does now driving around in her mini.

Things on the list include,
1: A bit more oomph under the hood.
2: Two black stripes with white outer pinstriping going down the front of her
hood.
3: The small driving/fog lights that have the plastic covers that say Mini.

Where can I get the hood stripes and the driving lights?
Also, without tearing into the motor, what's a good performance upgrade that can be bolted on. It's already got a K&N filter in the air box.

mod bug is dangerous and pricey. The easiest and most cost effective upgrade without opening up your engine is the 15% supercharger pulley and ECU programming.

Randy Webb is the guru in all things MINI performance and we are lucky that his shop is in Littleton. He will be doing a pulley install party during the MITM in August.

the stripes are easily avail at the dealer or the cooper graphics who is a supporting vendor of this forum. The rally lights are quite expensive for what they are. I like the looks of them as well however I did not want to spend >$400 for a non HP upgrade.

If you want to improve handling , I only recommend a set of good quality summer tires and lower weight rims.

have fun

Mod = expensive. I hear ya. We have a non Mini 261 whp w/ 298 ftps of torque FWD car now that we drive around here and there. And it all started with a simple cold air intake.
I'm trying to keep that from happening again.

The pulley is good from what I hear, I jsut need to find the time/money to get one installed.

As for your rally lights... well at Schomp they're about $800 to buy and have installed. I really liked the look of them as well, but at the post-factory price made me want them less. I also wasn't a fan of the rules about how their wired. According to our state laws (?) they have to be wired into the highbeams and therefore only function with your brights. Or so I was told at Schomp.

I'd be a really happy camper if that wasn't so.

Regardless stripes are available either at schomp or at any good Vinyl place. I'm considering replacing mine, we'll have to see though. If you want to talk to vinly folks I can recommend a place.

Cough, cough....are you serious? That's insane. Okay, plan B for the lights. I have a thermoformer I can put to use to make the covers with if she absolutley needs them to say Mini.

How about the intercooler? It looks not so efficient to me. Quite a bit of heat soak due to it being right over the engine. Do they make a front mount one for these cars?

Hey guys....as regards the stripes...

you ought to get in touch with Mike Syfritt at Aesthetic Creations - you can find him at www.AestheticCreations.com and inquire. He will be with us at MITM in August again and as last year, he is a big hit. In fact, I think he may have his install schedule posted already. Go online, check it out - you cannot find a better selection and if you want something custom, he can do it and bring it with.

Check it out...

front mount intercooler, another pricey option. yes there is a really trick front mount IC avail for our cars. Once again Randy Webb is your best option. If I remember this right, he has it on his r53 racer. The MITM could be great transition weekend for you. Stripes, ecu, 15% more and more.
