We're in the mountains this weekend so can't join in the fun. Does anyone know what the deal is with Indy Pass and Mt. Evans opening run? CDOT doesn't appear to have updated info. We'll be in Aspen and if the ride is going ahead, give me a call at 303-881-4854 and we'll (me and Ian and possibly the pooch!) meet for the Independence Pass portion!

Okay--here's the not-so-official scoop from the ranger station (not CDOT): IF the road opens, it will only be to Summit Lake. Our friendly ranger said that CDOT is not done clearing the road or parking area there and they received a few inches yesterday and are expecting more today. She said she doubts the road will open on Friday but won't be the one to make that decision. After doing some digging around the CDOT site, found a press release stating they're opening up Indy Pass on Thursday at 2:00pm. However, no updated info has been sent out or is on their phone system. I can't find a human to confirm the opening and concierge at hotel we're staying at said Aspen got about 1/2 inch yesterday but didn't know what the pass got. She also had no other info. There ya have it. Ing
Well, darn it all
I guess my son and I are NOT going to the top this year. What that means is that we make it to Idaho Springs and the TommyKnocker Brewpub for WINGS even earlier than planned. Yum. Then off to Copper Mtn to take care of some MITM business FOR YOU ALL and then home.
Oh well.

I will call again
in the AM. At least we will do the Western Dragon (CO103 from Bergen Park to Mt Evans) so there is some fun to be had. Probably will come across snow since we had plenty above 7,000' last night.

Thanks all for the photos; the meet was fun, though we could use a dozen or so more minis to really grab attention. Show that VW crowd that we've got some numbers too.
Indigo, do you know what your friend was doing with that camera to come out with pictures like he did? Those colors are super vibrant. I remember the colors much the way that RockyMC40s camera captured them, not suped up.
I loved all the pics, but I need to know what Indigo's frined did, so that my friends can take supa awesome shots like those too.
