Bump

Was it easy to install and how long did the installation take?
Did you experience performance gains while you used it?

Pretty simple install, but you do have to remove the front bumper cover. After that you simply remove the hot and cold side plumbing and unbolt it. Installation is the reverse. I'd plan on four hours if you've never pulled off the bumper cover.

Can't speak objectively to the performance gains as I never put it on a dyno. The chart below is from the Wagner website.

I did some testing on a Wagner clone here:

And for a more in depth review look here:

For $400 this is a pretty good deal. If I didn't already have one, I'd jump on it.

Good luck with the sale!

very easy install. Did one on my buddies car 2 months ago and he says he sees lower iat and better throttle response.

I'm in WA. Guessing around $50-$75 to ship. If you're really interested, shoot me your address and I'll get a firm quote.

Shoot, this is tempting and I am local too. :/

Do you know if this will fit a 2011 N14? I see Wagner offers two different versions, one for pre-LCI and one for post-LCI (2010+). I am not sure what the difference would be.

Looks like the post LCI might be a tad bigger. There's a note on the Wagner website that states that the post LCI "also fit to pre facelift Model R55-R57[2006-2010] with little modification inside the front bumper." Sounds like the older version will fit the post LCI.

I don’t see why this wouldn’t fit. I know on my 09 I didn’t have the crash bar to deal with so it took me an hour to install, took longer to put the damn car up on jack stands than it did to pop off the front bumper. I watched countless YouTube videos on how to remove the bumper and it was really straight forward. This doesn’t have any of the nubs on the top off it, You’ll just have to deal with the crash bar.

Thanks guys. I have done a bit more research on this. It looks like in order to fit a pre-LCI intercooler onto an LCI there would be some trimming/grinding on the revised crash bar. This is less than ideal for me as that bar is hardened steel and pretty tough. I would much prefer a direct drop-in, plug and play solution I think. In addition, I am not planning on doing any tuning at all on my JCW so I am not sure the benefits of the larger intercooler would be that large. I have even read some posts referring to a slight loss in throttle response due to the larger volume needing to be pressurized by the turbo.

Not that I’m trying to sway you, but all my mods are in my sig, this morning on stock tune 65 degrees out and I was boosting 16 lbs through 4-6th no issue topped out at 145 mph at 445 am.

I am certainly not doubting that an upgraded intercooler has a positive effect on heat rejection of the charge air. What I am saying is that, in order to accomplish that feat, there will be a higher pressure drop across the I?C core as compared to the OEM I/C. With a addition of a tune, this increased Delta-P can be overcome and gains realized but in stock form, not as much. The larger I/C will certainly resist heat soak and keep the charge air temps considerably lower during repeated pulls or even through a continuous long pull so there is benefit there. Bottom line, for the expected hassle of trying to fit this to my LCI I don't think the gain will offset for me.

Sorry to further de-rail this thread. Good luck with you sale!

I can get a new one for 495 and I typically pay half for used parts. Would you take 300 shipped? I am in Bend, OR, zip 97702.
Thanks

Hey. I’m new member. Not sure how to PM but if you send me a message I’ll work something out for shipping. I need an intercooler ASAP
