Thanks for the tip Magician. That sounds logical and have taken your advice. I am currently in touch with Arric and I am considering to get my hands on his ECU tune soon.

I also contacted variously other tuners. For example M7 Speed admittedly warns me not to go over 260hp on a N14 engine like mine else risk blowing up my engine, and offers they have the best tune to offer. So at the moment I am still researching what is best the solution.

But I just recently discovered amongst the 20 Accessport maps that Jeff Perrin gave me 7 years ago is a couple of Stage-3 maps. I tested them and felt a much better power response above 3K rpm. I have no idea how much HP gain because I have nothing to measure it with. For now I am somewhat satisfied, but regardless one cannot stop but wonder about Arric’s ECU tune and others. I may end up getting Arric’s JMTC solution for piece of mind. Ultimately I should take my mini to a tuner for a custom tune. But that’s way down the line because the closest tuner from me are too many miles away from me.

Anyway keep me posted on your turbo upgrade when you get yours from Arric. I highly recommend JMTC. Arric was absolutely correct when he told me his turbos will wake up my Mini. It certainly did and I am much more happier with my Mini now.

Just FYI I went for the S42. But Arric did not built my K03 with a 42mm compressor but with a 46mm instead. Better than expected.

My feelings are that Arric has been working with theses cars for years and he knows there limits. He will give you the most powerful safe map for longevity he can. So we have to trust him and his knowledge. I think you should mention how many miles are on the car. That could be important. Let me know what your going to do. My car is not a daily driver. And only has 35k on it.
Talk soon...
