It can hold a Venti Starbucks cup, 16oz of canned soda, or anything from the fast food chains that are designed to fit standard cup holders..... So pretty standard stuff.

I honestly used it more for my cell phone and stuff as I usually don't drink in the car.

It will not hold a big gulp from 7-11
