I'm fairly certain these units are married to the VIN. So when you go to sell these you have to unmarry it from your car. Also when doing so the tunes cannot be used with any other car.

It is unmarried and as far as Im aware, after talking with Battle's IT, it just takes an update via their program. Then you pay for the reset via the company that makes the tuner and thats it.

There is no fee associated with a reset, but if a unit changes hands, the new owner of the PWG3 unit must pay for a new tune unfortunately. Written tunes are specific for a vehicle, the minute it changes vehicle/owner, $$ unfortunately.
