I bought a used alta cold air intake from a forum member last month, and I can't get it to fit onto my oem stock intake tube (too small). So I'm looking for just the intake tube if anyone has one. Let me know what you've got!

 

Someone sent me a pm asking if another intake tube from motoringwerks.com would work. and I'm not sure

For some reason this alta shroud has a larger hose connection. It looks factory from alta, meaning no one has messed with it. But my stock tube wouldn't go on it, and I even ordered the intake tube from out motoring.com and it didn't work either (had to return it). The diameter is at least 1/4" off and even with cup grease I couldn't get it to slide on. I figured maybe the alta one is flared out at the end to mate up?? Its frustrating because I'm determined to not spend $150 on a stupid intake tube from alta, but my stock tube is cracked anyway so I need a new one, I'll call motoringwerks tomorrow and see if there's is the same one from out motoring, or if they can get me an inside diameter measurement.

Does anyone know if the alta CAI only works with their intake tube? I've seen it listed on there site w/o the tube so I assume it should work with the factory intake tube, but not in my case…..Is the alta tube flared out?
