1. SILENT use. Main reason why I'm thinking of swapping is because of the noise. Another noisy system would defeat the purpose
2. Height adjustability
3. I LOVE the Megans. They're not harsh, give the perfect stance for my R55 and decently priced. I had the M7's before and those are HARSH in relation. So the new system should be similar in performance/comfort. Obviously if the new system is able to up the performance without any decrease in comfort, all the better! I am willing to pay for this outcome.
Seems to be a hit and a miss. There are definitely those using Megans that don't have the noise, and those with BC/ST that has them. It seems the coil binding is associated more with the affordable systems. However, I do not want to get a harsh ride either so not sure which of the more expensive ones are comfortable.
Don't get rid of the coilovers because of it. If you have megan's, they use the camber plates and rear top mounts, but the springs should be roughtly around 2.5" where they meet the perches. Get a set of roller bearings and install them and your spring binding noise will be gone.

Essentially they go between the top and bottom of the springs and the perches. They go in the front only (only real place their needed). This allows the springs to rotate freely on the perches so they won't bind.
Also make sure your front preload isn't too tight, that can also cause binding. After preload is set, you should still be able to rotate the springs with a little force, not too loose but not too tight.
If you like your coilovers, there should be no need for new ones
Good luck!
