Fall 2010 Food Lion Auto Fair
Dan, why don't you plan on bringing both cars, and we'll revisit this at the end of the week. Looks like we'll need extras right now.
Ann, it looks like we're under cover. I'll run over there and take a look today or tomorrow. I'll let you know.

Who is bringing the biscuits?

Fall 2010 Food Lion AutoFair - At Charlotte Motor Speedway On Saturday August 28th.
M2C2 has again been invited to participate in the AutoFair car show at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Saturday August 28th from 8:00am until 6:00pm.
We have been given space for 20 MINIs to be displayed. The AutoFair will be awarding 5 trophies to the MINIs in our club.
If you have never been to the AutoFair you are in for a treat. More than 150,000 people attend this event over a 4 day period. Please check this link for more information.

This is an honor for our club to be invited to attend this event. We need to fill all 20 spaces. You must be a club member with dues current to participate. Also note that all cars are expected to stay for the entire time. The people attending the show pay to enter while we have no entry fee. Please post here to be added to the list. Once the list is full we'll add names to the waiting list as there are always cancellations.
We need to be in place by 7:30 AM.
The plan is to meet at the Starlight Theater parking lot just off I-485 at Hwy 29 around 6:00 and caravan the last couple of miles by about 6:30 as we need to be in place by 7:30. Entrance passes and car tags will be handed out at the theater.
Be sure to bring chairs, drinks, munchies and whatever cleaning gear you think you may need for last minute polishing. We would love to see some new faces attend, and promise a good time!! Come on out!!
I'll be attending the informational meeting this coming Thursday evening, and will post any updates after then.
Here's an update: I attended the Thursday evening meeting, and picked up our tickets. Our location has changed again this year. We've been pushed further around the area that we were in last Auto Fair (further away from the auction). The Auto Fair folks expressed concern about vandalism that apparently happened to several displayed cars last show. They suggested that club members keep a close eye on your cars, and if you leave the area, don't leave the windows open or car unlocked. Anyhow, the new location is almost at the end of that level, so we may not get much traffic, but on the plus side, we won't be blasted by the autioneer.

Congrats to all the winners from me too. It was so nice to meet some more great mini owners. What a small world it is - George Kail came over and lo and behold I knew him and worked with his wife but did not know he had started the club.
Had a wonderful time and I look forward to meeting others and seeing you guys at another event.

Yep, George is a great guy and he got me to run for Charlotte VP and then President. He will always be a part of the club although he had to get rid of his MINI. Great spending the day with all of you. Also thanks to the guys who came out Sunday and helped the EUROs at the Fair. It was hot but still had a great time talking cars with the people. Have ya ever seen a 5th Jack Daniels for over flow radiator collector? We did !
