We saw about 20 cars sitting on WT Harris Blvd tonight, waiting to turn into a gas station driveway! It is WACKY out there...

We have very little here in Middle TN... Long lines, no premo or mid grade, cars on the side of the road where they ran out of gas... It comes in, and disappears as fast as it came in. I was really surprised today that Costco had blocked the entrance to their gas pumps as THEY were out. Finally found some at Kroger- it must have just come in, cause as I was leaving, the lines were forming...
My Clubbie isn't here yet.... still on the dock waiting a puddle jumper. So, I think I'll take my daughter to school either on horseback or in the golf cart...
Ho hum...

And yes....water takes ALOT of octane booster.
The first station that I could find premium was a BP, but there is one Shell station that I have been able to buy premium without any problems. I paid 4.29 this morning, then I saw my local Shell had 4.25 on the sign. I then saw that it was for reg. and they had no mid or premium. The problem is supposed to be over by this weekend.

Oh the weird thing about the Chevron truck...we had a Texaco gas card, until they dissappeared here. We were sent a Shell card to replace it. Texaco and Chevron are hooked together. Maybe the trucker gave the station the gas for old times sake.

Found gas in Concord last night - it was a BJ's and it was only 89 grade. Hopefully the half of tank of the premium and this mid grade will mix just fine.
I heard that this crisis will be better by the end of the weekend.

We keep hearing it's going to be better in X# days as well- but it's been like this since IKE storm surge hit Galveston.
Lots of people here in Md TN are re-thinking their daily patterns...
Best of luck-

Just an FYI for the folks in Concord. The gas station right in front of Concord Mills Mall has 100 octane racing gas. It is $5.99 a gallon. I didn't buy it because I still have 3/4 of a tank and I was told it wouldn't add to the performance of the vehicle.

Best of luck!

I couldn't get 93 octane in Colorado, Ok or Texas, but with a case of octane boost they will run great. We had no trouble going to mickey & Mini buying gas, Had to use mid level one time.

Getting word here from the military channels that the problem is going to be out to mid Oct. Ugh... Is there gas in Denver, N.C.?

The other problem is trying to find octane booster now. seems my little secret is out. :-)

Folks- the gas issue has gotten another twist here in Middle TN. Water in the fuel. There was a report of problems here last night- and massive engine repairs due to the water in the fuel. One guy actually was able to trace his fuel purchase, contact the Dept of Ag (which oversees fuel issues here), they tested the fuel and found LOTS of water. The fuel was purchased at a big retailer that also sells fuel, and they're paying the man for his engine issues, car rental etc.

Keep an eye out and purchase your fuel accordingly...
Best of luck-

OH- and I'm back to driving my cinderblock now that she has brakes - a 1982 MB 300 TD...

reading SSSSSSSS's (say that ten times fast) post on the above link you can see that this is going to be a problem everywhere. Be wary.

About 8:30 p.m. last night I was able to get premium gas at the Texaco station at Carowinds Blvd - grant it - I had to drive almost 30 miles to get there from my house, but it was worth it. I paid $3.95.

It's regular only, however, the gas station in front of Trader Joe's on Mallard Creek Road, just off I-85 about exit 46, seems to have gas every afternoon, or at least has had, as a tanker rolls in every day after lunch. It is sold out by 3pm.

The gas station across from UNCC has regular sometimes, too, but sells out quick...
