I have the MOSS MINI CAI intake and like it. It's a bit cheeper than the K&N. There is also the AFE. Injen even sells one for or Base Coopers too.....I've seen them on eBay. All CAI's will do the same thing.......increse throttle response and growl. It's up to you to chose one accordingly.

Try Flowsource - a NAM vendor. Seems to be a quality product and good customer service

Guys... you have to try the DDM Works CAI a few of us had it installed by Waylen at Way Motorworks while we attended MOTD last week. You've got to hear this thing! I can't speak on the technical side of things.. but it looks great and sounds better I took a test drive in a Cooper with both the DDM and a Militek exhaust and was blown away (or was it because Waylen scared the crap out of me ) After having it installed on my MCC, I couldn't help but punch the gas every time just to hear this thing!!!

Any chance you could post an mp3 or Quicktime of the sound from your DDM?

Great pics. Dave and I designed this to be the best intake avail for a Cooper. Cooper owners have been ignored long enough. I think I installed 9 or 10 of these at the Dragon. The sound is incredible nice throuty sound. Plus is make power. I still have some available, so call if you want to order one.

Does this mean they are a limited run? I really like the look of this part, but I can't afford it right now

I'll see what I can do... I'm rolling up to MN this weekend for their rally (and visit the in-laws :impatient) I haven't used my video camera in a long time, so I'll give it a try

Maybe Waylen has a clip???

No these aren't a limited run. Just new and hard to stock since we sold so many at the dragon. We'll get a big order back from the Manufactur in about 2 weeks.

As for the sound clip. I'll talk to other customers that have one and see if we can put one together.

It seems like most of the intakes fall in the $175 range. Only thing I am unsure of is whether or not any of them work with the MC CVT (03). Any advice on a particular model? Thanks!

Do what people are now doing with the r56. Buy a cone filter for a 3" tube and put it in place of the air box. For it to be a true CAI, you will need to block out the hot air, but it could be done for less than $100 if you are creative.

Cone filter are about $40 - $50
