You could also go down 680 to San Jose- kind of the back way around. No toll on the south bound lane for the bridge (Richmond?)
correction it's the San Mateo bridge I was thinking of-thanks Gromit. The inbound lanes of the Richmond are the ones with the toll. NPR just mentioned that the problem wasn't as bad as expected-i was thinking, "that's becuase it will effect the out bound traffic this afternoon much more than the in bound.
I saw the Governator made all the mass transit free today-hope that continues for a while!

Plenty of ways to get in and out of SF (including BART).
It only affects coming out of SF and heading south, or coming from the south and wanting to go to SF.
Still have the Richmond Bridge (to the north) and the San Mateo Bridge (to the south).
