this is my first Mini, but I've been following the Mini forums for a while.
Decided after seeing the R56, that was the one for me. So my wife and I ordered one in Feb. Took delivery on my birthday! Apr 5th. (best b-day ever )

I've owned and been modding VW's & Audi's for almost 10yrs now, and the R56 out of the box is such a fun car, i can't imagine how fun this thing will be once its dialed in just right.

anyway, enough about that....here are a couple of pics from the GTG at Helix's shop this past weekend.

First mod. Tint!!!!!

 

I have the same exterior as yours for my R56 and yesterday got it tinted. Great great looking car and my first MINI.

 

Looks good. I'm also a fan of PW I was torn between that and what I ended up with (AB/AB).

VWs have also been my vehicle of choice in the past. What kind of VWs did you drive? I've owned a MK2 GLI, Corrado SLC and a MK3 GTI VR6, my favorite being the SLC.

Sweet looking car. Now tell me about the front license plate thing. How do I get into one of those besides going to the dealer?

 

thanks. the Euro front plate I bought last time I was in Portugal.
I had it made by a shop that was a family friend. BENFICA is the name of my favorite football club from the Portuguese SuperLiga.

and I bought a Euro plate holder like this one to mount it.

Your front centercap still has the blue, protective tape on it. I noticed this because mine had both p/s still on when I got it home as well as the one on the valve cover and dead pedal, no biggie because it comes right off and I was on cloud nine at the time anyway....hell, I'm still there

BTW, your color combo is my second favorite and with some tint its going to look that much better Are you thinking about adding some all black rims to it?

just as I thought my days of modding cars was slowing down, this car has brought back the enthusiasm I had with my first VW GTi. I'm excited because I know the potential it has. Just look at all the amazing R50/53's on this board. And the turbo motor just makes it all that more fun because the options really open up from mild to wild!

you're right, the blue tape on the center cap is still there. that one was being stubborn but it's off now....and you must have been reading my mind. Black wheels is what this Mini is getting. Just trying to decide on which.

as for the first mods....until a set of solid coilovers are available, I'll be getting H&R sport springs. Then a set of wheels with sticky rubber.
That should be good enough for this track season.

I'm also hoping for a nice turbo-back system sometime this year.

 

Tirerack has some nice choices of all black rims, even the JCW ones are sweet! In those pics the white looks bright white but its actually more of an egg shell white and again, I love that color combo and in another post I said if I had a second choice I'd go with that color, same options as I have now but then added Redwood Red interior, shift and e-brake boots

where did u get the license plate in front? also did u drill holes in front bumper?

 

The MINI looks great, Benfica!!! Pepper White is always subtle, yet striking.
