R&R Intercooler and now MCS wont idle...
I need your help. While installing my Mini Accs Gauge Kit (P/N 82 94 0 393 994), I had to remove the intercooler (step 27 in the instructions). In the process, I have managed to screw something up. After I put the car back together and started it up, I realized I had a problem. I have a Service Engine Soon light and it will not idle worth a flip, let alone drive. It was late when I realized I had eff'd up, so I just left it alone and decided I would look to you guys for advice and input, before I take it back apart and look for my problems. Do any of you guys have an idea what i might have done?
I'm also not sure where to hook up the boost gauge signal hose. I'm not sure which one of the vaccum lines is the fuel pressure signal hose. Anyone have any input on that?
Thanks in advance for your help.

If you have the stock IC boots, it's possible that one(or both) are not set right on the IC inlet or outlet, or even on the "horns" themselves. When you take it back apart, remove the boots completely and thoroughly clean the insides to remove any oil residue. You can also scuff the machined surfaces of the IC horns lightly to help the boot grip better. Check all vacuum connections as well.

Partsman is right...you didn't tighten something and/or crimped the rubber bellows (very easy to do especially on the bottome side where it's hard to see)...You have a vacuum leak...easy fix...
Thanks guys! I really expected it to be an easy fix, but it was late. I have learned over the years it's better to tackle something like this the next day with a fresh mind and better attitude. lol
Checked things out at lunch and low and behold ya'll were right! I had one of the boots rolled over on the bottom. It's fixed and I plumbed the boost gauge too. All and all it was a good lunch!
Now get out there for some test drives.
