R56 Grill badge for 07
The old one should work on the MCS black grille. However MINI will be coming out with a new version of the holder (with longer screws) in a month or so.
I'm eagerly awaiting this new holder and saving up money for badges. (I know they don't cost much, but I just bought a new car.) Hope that MotoringFile will have a big announcement when it's available and White Roof Radio will do a whole show on it. (I was joking about the latter, but it would be interesting to hear some of the history behind grill badges.) Thanks, Gabe.

I have the old style badge holder and a one day old R56 MCS, so tonight I'll try to mount the holder to the new grill. If it works I'll post tomorrow.

I had to cut some of the protective tubing away from the bolt to fit the narrow grill and backing plate.

This is a view of the badge mounted on the grill, the bolts stick out quite a bit already. They don't interfer with anything that I could see. There is very little room to work in there and it took several minutes and a couple dropped nuts and washers before it was tightened down.

I put it in the corner so it would block the radiator flow.

Here's my first badge, color matches the monochromatic nature of my MINI.

I would like to thank toddsmods for providing such a great badge, very nice experience buying from them.

Yes - they will have one version that fits both.
I have a 2007 MC and bought a cravin speed grill badge holder. Then went to menards and bought 2 in stainless steel machine screws. It was tricky and there is not alot of space to work but i got it on. I bought two of thease grill badge holders and now i want to sell one of them. i payed 15.00 bucks for it. i will sell for 14.00 never opened. I will also include the longer screws. pm me if interested.
Yes, it does look fantastic. I tried fitting my old holder to my R56 grill the other night. Didn't think to trim the protective tubing....
Will try again on the weekend. You're right though, it is really tight behind there and I have small hands.
How easy is it to remove the grill?

Well, I finally go around to installing my grill badge holder on my 07 MCS:

In the end I trimmed the protective tubing away (same as mcarlo52), left off the original backing bracket and used a couple of spring washers and wing nuts to tighten things up. Space behind the grill is very limited and I didn't want to mess around with removing it. The wing nuts made things so easy.
I also found somewhere to store my collection of grill badges. They fit perfectly (well, almost) in one of the front cup holders. Just be careful you don't push them all the way to the bottom like I did. Mine got stuck and I had to use a plastic suction hook to remove them!

Slightly too big for the bottom of the cup holder. I placed 5 in my mine. I could get 2 out, but the bottom 3 were wedged in pretty tight. Now I have a thin circular disc at the bottom that the badges sit on.
Your idea is a good one....they actually look very nice in the holders.

The old style badge holder worked for me too. Though from the looks of it, I put it on the wrong side
Here's my collection so far (my favorites are the Welsh Dragon and the Shamrock):

After tinkering around with it on the car, I finally figured out how to pull the grill off and it was easy after that.
