I just got offered a job

At Irvine MINI. I stopped by after work looking for my MA and stalling to beat traffic. my MA wasnt there so I was talking to the manager and a couple other MA's that I have come to know in my many trips to the dealer, when I noticed a guy who was having his car serviced checking on the GP. I introduced myself and started talking to him about the GP. I was spewing out facts and specs on it and he was starting to get more and more interested. after quite some conversation he asked if he could pop the bonnet. I said I wasnt sure since I didnt work here and he thought that was very funny, I came from work so i was wearing a shirt and tie. One of the other MA's came over and opened the bonnet and put her two cents in from that point on. Well after the guy left the manager yelled from the other end of the showroom, "So Bryan? you need a job?" I have a great part time job and go to school, but am seriously considering talking to the manager about maybe a part time position. I just thought I would let you know. I was excited so i thought you would be too.

Why not give it a shot?

I have a great job, and I've still considered applying to work part-time "just for fun".

A part-time job that could lead to career opportunities down the road, in a "field" that you're passionate about (MINIs), working with others who share your interests, and dealing with people who either 1) have already consumed the Kool-Aid and want another MINI or 2) have no idea what they are looking at/for but listen to you and decide the MINI lifestyle is for them too.

Does it get any better? I say go for it!

Good luck sound like it could be fun for you, since you can easily remember specs and facts.

Talk to the manager, see how serious he was, and if he meant it, work out some numbers and see if it'd be worth leaving your current job.

Cool Bryan!

It would be good to have a NAM insider over at Irvine Mini! Say hi to Alex for me!
