2007 REME MINI Mountain Tour - Part 2

I thought I would post this in the Mid Cal forum even before I did on the NAM REME forum since we will be driving in your neck of the woods. This is the second half of the 2007 REME Mountain Tour (the first half starting in June at Mount Shasta).

We will be starting our trip on Friday morning, August 31 returning on Monday, September 3, 2007. Make reservations for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights (Monday is the driving day back home). Because this is a holiday weekend, you have to make reservations early

We have reserved a block of 20 rooms at Yosemite Gateway Inn, 40530 SR-41, Oakhurst, CA for Friday, Saturday & Sunday nights (08/31 thru 09/02) departing Monday morning, September 3. This is a nice Best Western Motel, Rooms are non-smoking with 2 queen beds (smoking rooms available by special request. Cost $98 per night. Reservations must be made by July 1. Call 800-545-5462, let them know you are with Redwood Empire Mini Cooper Enthusiasts, and make your reservation in the "Redwood Block". This hotel looks great, with nice rooms, indoor and outdoor pools, restaurant on the property. Breakfast is not included, but the restaurant gives discount if you show your room key.

The routes have been developed. (Day 1) (Day 2) (Day 3) (Day 4) (RSVP) (FORUM)

I would like to encourage all Mid-Cal Members to consider the Shasta run and the Mother Lode run. These will be awesome.

Please see Jesse's Post below.

Robert.

All you guys & gals are always invited. Our (REME) next "big" run is our North Coast Lighthouse Tour. This will start at Crescent City near the Oregon boarder and we will visit the lighthouses along the California Coast to Pt. Reyes and an optional trip to Alcatraz. (Friday night 4/6-Sunday 4/8)

In June we are having our 2nd annual Mt. Shasta run. We will be driving along the Klamath River (highway 96) then down Scott River Valley, We will have a catered sunset BBQ dinner at Bunny Flat on Saturday Night (June 16). Then Sunday we will be travelling over highway 3 along the Trinity Alps and Trinity river.

In August we have our Motherlode run in your backyard, then for labor day weekend we will have our Yosemite/King Canyon Run.

If anyone wants to join in just let me know. You can email me @ norm@redwoodempiremini.com for details. Leave me your email address & I will add you to my distribution list for all the MINI runs I have

Hello Mid Cal MINIs,

Just a reminder about our (REME) Yosemite/Kings Canyon Run coming up on Labor Day weekend. All of you are invited and any other MINIs clubs as well. Please let us know if anyone can join us so we can get a head count. If you are planning to join us I recommend that you make reservations soon if you plan to stay with us. If not, feel free to join in on the driving and fun. Drop in for all the days or just the ones you can make.

Check above for links to maps, dates, and hotel details.

Hope to see you all.

Cheers,

Central Valley Mini guys & gals... if you want to join our Yosemite run you better make your plans soon and RSVP on the REME MegaBBS. We have about 20 cars that have RSVP'd to date but I am expecting 20-30 cars on the run.

I hope a few of our southern friends will join in on the fun!

Hi Scoopy... I guess I did not update all the places I posted run info. We will have two runs on Sunday... one relatively short and one very long. You should go on the REME MegaBBS and download the calling list and call one of us Saturday night to verify if a group will being doing both runs or just one or the other.

I think Howard is planning on leading the 283 mile run on Sunday and I will likely lead the 154 mile run. Download the latest maps from the REME website, the REME MegaBBS, or even our NAM site.

Hey all you Mid Cal Minis,

You have some GREAT roads down there. This was a BLAST. A little HOT, but fun. Yosemite was beautiful, of course, but we had a lot of fun going up to Shaver & Huntington Lakes. Great roads, smooth, twisty...Yeh!!!

If you guys plan a run in these areas, please let me know. It's worth the drive down.

Cheers,

Norm

Glad you all had fun. After working in the heat all week, I didn't leave the house all weekend. Stayed home and did chores.
