Hey,
I was just wondering who here doesn't have any bonnet or boot stripes, or a roof decal. I don't I have an '02 red/white "S" and no decals such as stripes or roof decals.

Dark Silver white top - no roof decal (sunroof) and no bonnet stripes.

I love the metallic look of the bonnet w/o the stripes. It has such depth. It is the favorite part of my MINI.

THat said, bonnet stripes look great also. If I had a 2nd MINI I'd probably get them on that one to have it both ways!

Me neither...an IB/W. I'm real cautious about adding too much to the look of my car. If anything, I may try the magnetic stripes just for fun...but only for occasional use.

I like the idea of putting the magnetic stripes on, because they are cheap, and if you want them one day, you put them on, if the next day you don't, you take them off.

Even though I have a few decals, I like more of a clean look as well. Seems like the stripes are still becoming a fad of the rice rocket boys and girls out there. But I must say that the stripes do compliment the MINI on certain colors. I have double Dark Silver. So I don't think it goes well with that.
I think if you have white bonnet stripes, it goes well with a white roof and mirrors. Same goes for black stripes, roof and mirrors. Otherwise it kinda looks out of place.
But then that's just my opinion.
To each their own
Cheers,

I didn’t opt for the bonnet strips on my Chili Red/white top and wheels MCS as the factory strips are vinyl. I had planned on having a buddy who owns a body shop to paint strips on the hood and deck lid after I got the car. The only problem with that is like the looks of the car the way it is without any strips on it. My wife commented just today that she doesn’t think see has seen two MINIs’s the same color combination. With up to three different top colors per color offered and strips or no strips there are a lot of options.

I removed the bonnet stripes on my BRG/W MCS within 3 days. I love them on other color MINI's but was not thrilled with them on the BRG.

I have removed the "Cooper S" badge on the rear though . . . but have added a sunroof UJ decal. . .

I do like the debadged look but with my MINI, I like the MINI logos. . .

However, I also want to remove the red S from the side grilles to get rid of any S badging. . .

No car yet, but I already have the UJ sunroof decal ready for the summer sun and am planning to get some magnetic stripes.

Both removable/reusable so I can change the look depending on my mood.

My MC is BRG with BRG top with sunroof. I like the clean look too, & I like the chrome grille a lot! BRG really shows off the chrome & headlights. After much thought I am planning to have a BRG painted aero spoiler put on the back, I've found Anthracite 17x7 Y-Spokes, & I plan driving lights to complete the look.

I studied a couple of stripe/checkered ideas using photoshop, & I agree that the body colored roof can make additional striping & such look out of place on BRG.

I'll be posting pictures when it's done.

The magnetic stripes/graphics are a stroke of genius, because you can dress it up non-permanently, & if you don't like it, no biggie. That guy should use his 163bhp to get to the patent office!!

Ordered my Chili Red/White MCS without stripes. However, recently added white stripes made from a static cling vinyl.... just so I could try them out without too much fuss. Bottom line, I really like them! They seem to smooth out the "hump" from the the air scoop, making the hood look better.

So, if the cling decal stripes don't last, I'll be getting a set of permanent stripes shortly.

You can see a pic of the car with the cling decal stripes here: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...view_photo.php

Also have the UJ sunroof decal for later in the summer, when I want to block the sun a little....

Mine is Dark Silver top to bottom sans stripes. Stealthy!

Saw one like mine with black stripes, and I thought it looked very cool. I might do that in the future.

Don't have stripes or roof decal, but the best Mini I've seen with stripes has to be Killerbee's, Black w/ Yellow center stripe on bonnet & roof. That car looks Killah!

I was all ready to use phantom stripes on the bonnet and boot, and tint the car.

Then I really started to like the stock look. Sort of like messing with perfection. Maybe in a couple of months I will get the urge again!

Regards,
Red

Satchmo,
How much did you pay for the stripes, and where did get them?

Got them from "MINI Cooper Parts" (Find them here: http://www.minicooperparts.com/catal...roducts_id=132 )

They come with front and rear stripes (haven't tried the rear stripes yet).

Cost for the set was $25.

Have to be careful when washing the car..... Started to come off today while washing, but was easy to put back in place.

I don't recall how much they charged for shipping, but you can figure that out on their website.....

So far, they have stayed put at triple digit speeds and in driving rain.....

Peanut looks pretty dressed up without any extra 'stuff' added; EB/White has so much eye-pop going on as it is, add stripes and it's just over the top, IMO.

The best stripes I've seen are the rogue shadow stripes on DS. I think they would also look good on IB or BRG. The dark metallic colors seem to lend themselves well to the shadow effect.
