HPDE Tire Pressures R Compound

Am wondering if there is a chart available that indicates tire pressures for R Compound tires. I am running 205/50/15 Hankooks for the first time this weekend and have gotten various opinions about cold/hot tire pressures. I currently have 31#'s (15") and scrubbed in the tires initially. I normally run 17" and keep pressures at 40# hot. Any ideas?

Cold track + hard tires = no grip

JS,

Tire pressure is like a tunable extension of your suspension and as such it is subjective. I run a stiff suspension with lowered springs. Most of my HPDE is on track. I set the front tires to 38-40# and the rear 35-37#. I like a little less rotation in the rear than an autocrosser would want. I keep a close eye on the tire’s ware markers, my braking distances and exit speed coming off the apex at specific points on the track. All this is in an effort to see if my perception of tire grip is consistent with my lap times. I have found you can receive a lot of feedback from the seat of your pants so to speak. I would recommend experimentation, keeping good notes on track temperature, type of tire, your camber settings and tire pressure to see what works best for your car, the venue, pavement texture and you as a driver.

Good Luck!

Is it the C50 or C30 compound?

C30 = Hard
C50 = Medium

I ran the Z-211 last year in the US Touring Car Championship, 38-40 psi hot is optimal.
Cheers & good luck with your racing!
