Interior Trim options

Im looking to purchase one in the next month or so and I live in Canada so I was configuring my own Mini and im a little confused because the Canada site is not nearly as good as the MiniUsa site. I have a couple questions that some of you may be able to answer:

1) Are the chrome mirror caps available on all models/colours?
2) I was looking through the thread with all the pics and i noticed someone with a red exterior and red seat trim. Does the cloth come with the red trim, or only leather? When i build it, cloth and leatherette only come in black or silver. I want red trim on cloth or leatherette.
3) Can the ambient lighting colour be changed, and to which colours? Or is that an option?

#3 The ambient lighting has like 8 colors. 4 if you click the switch each time either way and the combined colors (blue and purple for example) if you hold the switch down. When you hold it down it slowly bleeds from one color through all the colors to the next. The amber or orange color (darkest) seems to be hard to see in the door pull areas unless its real dark. All other colors show up real nice from the lights inside.

The new eighty plus page MINI brochure is your best bet. It's not only comprehensive, but offers a truer reflection of the colors. Don't rely upon the MINI website for subtle color nuances. Even color snapshots are not very reliable, since most are either under exposed or over exposed.

I believe the chrome mirror caps are a dealer added accessory. So, they will go with any combination. You can even get them from non-dealer MINI accessory houses and install them yourself.

It looks to me (from the brochure) that the red seat trim comes with the cloth seats if you select the Rooster Red Color Line. The door armrest and part of the dash will also be red.

I saw it in person, but wasn't real impressed. I would have got the red and black seats if the whole seat was leather, but it's not. I found it a little weird to have cloth and leather together, but maybe that's just me

Yes at the dealer. I had one sent to me. Got it by return of post. It's classy piece of advertising.

awww thats a bummer. i wish it came with the two tone in cloth or leatherette :(

thanks so much for all the replies guys (n gals, im sure there are a handful around here). Ive tried some other forums but they really arent that active. I think i like it here

hmm....so if i can im just gonna get the chrome mirrors aftermarket, and no need to worry about the ambient lighting since it does come standard, neat feature!

does anyone else here wish that the cooper came in that light blue metallic only found on the S model? :( well, i guess thats what differentiates its from a standard cooper..its an eyecatcher....for me at least

Chrome mirror caps will take some time before they are available. As of now there is little in the aftermarket world for the R56, a couple exhausts and that's about it. MINI has a new accessory book available that's incredibly comprehensive.

They are listed in the Configurator as JCW accessories. That means they are dealer-installed, i.e., available separately. Have you tried ordering them and found them not available? It was my impression that items not greyed out in the Configurator are currently available.

Have you guys tried going to www.mini.ca and use OUR configurator? Its a joke compared to the mini usa's....its HORRIBLE

If it can be dealer installed...im gonna be paying hefty price for labor! Better off just getting it built to order

I have a question about this photo. Are the door ellipses the standard black ones (non silver) that come with the standard Fine White Silver dash detail?

Thanks.

Uhmm what I meant was the interior door ellipses. They aren't silver, but they also don't look piano black.

I have seen these door ellipses before. They are just the same material as the door panel (bumpy vinyl). This seems to be a standard setup if you don't choose any interior trim package (piano or checker, etc). It looks decent but mostly blends into the door panel.

The door and dash color trim are ordered seperately from the seats. You can get either alone or get them both together.

Thanks, that's what I thought. I really haven't seen any photos without the silver (or piano black) trim on the door.
