When you order a MINI, can you still get a deal on them

I want to order a mini, but I want to know if I can get a deal like other cars. I've never ordered a car before and I'm looking forward to doing it. I know that most car dealerships you can get good deals on cars on their lots, But I want to know that if you order one, can I still get a discount? What are you guys paying for your r56?
Thanx Everyone

For the most part you don't get a discount on a r56. You might from a dealer trying to move an 06 though.

There hasn't ever been much, if any, haggling allowed on MINIs. Basically you buy it for whatever your total is after options and other than getting some floor mats or something small thrown in (which still doesn't always happen) you won't get any special deals.

We can thank MINI for doing this though when we attempt to re-sell our cars or if we get into an accident that's a total loss. Since they don't lower the prices from MSRP, they hold their value well, and therfore, they are worth more for a longer period of time than any other cars on the road today.

Supply and demand. Demand is high, and they're supplying as many MINIs as they can possibly manufacture... so there isn't much room for discounts!

Same here. MSRP was the best I could get and I drive hard bargains.

I had to visit two dealers before I could even get the MSRP! Here, markups abound.

You don't tell us where you live? Some on the West Coast, including myself, pay above MSRP. Some in California pay more than $2 above. No bargins. Go to Edmunds, check their True Market Value. Its based upon your Zip Code.

Paying MSRP and getting some free accessories, such as floor mats, isthe best deal you can get for the R56.

My local dealer is marking down $500 for 06s. They may be taking a little more off for MCS.

My local MINI dealer here in Jax, FL is giving up to 1000.00 off 2006 MINI's. But like everyone else you can hang it up on a discount on a R56. MSRP is your best deal as some are paying MSRP + some.

My dealer will take offers and negotiate on used MINIs. They marked the new '06 cars down allmost $500. But they pretty much only had Coopers (I wanted an S) autos (I want a manual) and convertibles (I wanted a hard top w/sunroof), though.

If you want a discount and still have a current generation model then your best deal can be made on an 06 convertible leftover. These will remain basically the same car until 08-09. Neighbor just got a brand new leftover 06 S cabrio for $2000 off. I got $1300 off on a current model year cabrio last year. Shop around, there are deals out there. Forget it on an R56.

the more loaded the 06, the better deal you will get so it's not taking up d'ship space. my dealer has 'em for 500-1000 off right now. as far as the new cars, just pay msrp like (most of) the rest of us.

Paid MSRP for mine right off the mini website, although I was dumb and added my floormats in on the website, so no opportunity to ask for them free at the dealership. I did haggle them up $500 on my trade-in, though.

Exactly! Take just about any American car for example, you may be looking at a Ford Expedition for roughly $40,000. After rebates, incentives, etc you're paying $35,000. Now drive that Ford around for a year and put 12k miles in it and decide to trade it in on another car.... trade in value: $25,000! Rebates and the like do nothing but hurt resale values on cars. We should be glad they don't drop the price!

There is little doubt that the resale value of a MINI is better than most other vehicles, but this doesn't excuse the dealer who adds artifical profit to the deal taking advantage of the consumer. At trade in time that $500 teflon coating will yield not one extra dollar.

I ordered mine through Tom Bush (Nicholas Froelich-Salesman) and got a mini jacket & floor mats throwed in. However, I put a lot of accessories, either the most loaded vehicle they have ever sold or next to it.
