Mountain bike fits in back of convertible!

I don't need a bike rack . I've been wanting to try this for a while now. I took off the front wheel and pulled out the seat post (both quick-release levers) and it just fits with the passenger seat slid all the way forward but in the upright position. I inserted it CAREFULLY from the passenger side with the door wide open.

As you can see in the 1st pic, the back wheel slid into the boot. It isn't rubbing hard anywhere, but I think tennis ***** stuck over the ends of the front forks and some padding where the handlebars almost touch the door would be good.

I think this is great, because I don't have to drive Sherry's van if I am going alone . Top will be able to be put up - wait, why would I ever want to do that?

davavd,
It's cool that you found a way to get your bike into the Mini. You should make the short trek over to Abita Springs for the next bike festival:

Lot's of fun and laughs for everyone.

It's in the 2006 MINI accessories catalog from the dealer. No, they don't offer a cabrio version.

I've been to it before . Quite a circus . I even got to ride some really weird contraptions.
