When you have a comprehensive claim on your insurace does that effect your rates? I asked a representative from my company (USAA) and they said typically comprehensive claims do not. Key word being "typically".

Anyways I have some localized hail damage which I am going to take for some estimates. It is not as extenisve as I thought and in the long run if it will cost me more to have a claim payout it may not be worth it.

I believe that they cannot raise your rates on a comp. claim, unless you have multiple claims in a short period. PM Chili Red & Pepper White, he will be able to answer this for you, being as he works for an insurance company .
