Looking for info on '07 MCS Performance Upgrades...

I've done quite a bit of searching and haven't found much on the way of info on performance modifications for the '07 MCS. Can anyone provide what they know about any mods available for the '07 MCS

My dealer told me a performance shop bought one and "chipped" it and the HP went immediately to 250 without any other mods

My 07 MCS arrives in a few days and I plan to install a BOV and love the idea of being able to hear a Pshhhhh sound on a MINI Talk about FUN!!

I'm also thinking of other mods:
Cold Air Intake (make hood scoop functional)
Exhaust/Downpipe
Boost Controller - but would like to know what boost level the engine can handle.

It seems that most things are still in the works for '07. Here is some info on what Alta is doing:

Robin,
Thanks for the link. I did see this; however, everything from Alta appears to be a ways off and I was hoping there were other companies that had things available or were further along...

Even the John Cooper Works mods are a ways off, it seems. Wait and watch, remembering that your stock MCS has more power than the R53 JCW, IIRC.

Good luck with that one. There is no way you're going to see that kind of power increase electronically.

That's the beauty of a turbo--the wastegate is controlled electronically and you can dial in as much boost from your cockpit as the engine can handle with two qualifiers: Fuel and knowing the max boost capability of the turbos before you begin to harm them.

On my '98 supra Turbo the HP went from factory 320 to 500 just by adding exhaust, dp, and boost controller. Not saying the Mini will do the same, but it should be fun to find out!

Yes, I'm going to have to call shenanigans on your dealer. As an owner of a modded VW 1.8T, I'm telling you that's a totally unrealistic HP number for chiptuning this engine.
