R56 Calgary Mini Dealer Good/bad or ugly?
Calgary Mini Dealer Good/bad or ugly?
I am having trouble with my local dealer. I want to buy a 2007 cooper and want them to move a little on their price. I asked them to waive the admn fee on Wed. Nobody will call me or e-mail me back... nothing.
There is another dealer 3hours away that has returned my call in 15 mins (Edmonton Mini).
Is the service, for oil changes or worse warranty, going to be as bad of service from the sales dept?
Anyone deal with these guys?

I bought my RS56 Mini Cooper S from Crowfoot Mini. I have been in and out of that dealership for almost 2 years. They have been treating me great right from the beginning. I was able to get $300 off my new car (but I have been a salesman for over 20 years). Most canadian mini dealers are MSRP that I have seen travelling Canada. If you want to know my salesman's name, just pm me. I have taken a rs56 out twice for over 1 hour each test drive, plus he will let me borrow a car for the weekend with a bit of notice. I am 100% happy with how they are treating me.
Descent Service
I purchased (Lease due to arrive in June) a Mini Cooper S last week from Mike at the Crowfoot Mini (too bad BMW in Automall couldn't sell). Overall good, quick service. I made the decision over a two/three day period, no test drive of 2007 model - so I had them doing lots of quotes for me and resolving many questions.
I would suggest going there vs. Edmonton - unless they can ship the car for you to Calgary - and save $ (but I don't think that is the best option). This time of year, lots of rocks on the QE2... and 3 hours @ 110 km/h not the best break in.
If you want more details send me a pm.

Of course, you'll need an "out of province" inspection and you'll have to drive it home. Hiway cruising this time of year shouldn't be so bad. There aren't many bugs to splat onto the front of the car and if you don't tailgate, rocks shouldn't be an issue either.
I was hot on the trail of a Mini some months ago. Twice I went into Cowtown Mini to ask questions and twice, the same saleman sat at his desk reading some printed material on his desk and never so much as raised his head to look at me when he answered my questions. Then I was confronted by one of those salesmen who is registered on "Mini2". Because of his unfriendly, confrontational and arrogant behavior (and that of his co-forum member buddy), the Mini is no longer on my list. Both of those clowns show up at local meets, so no thanks.
Try Kelowna Mini and Oakville Mini (Ontario). I know Oakville has been known to deal.

I picked up my 2007 Cooper S at Crowfoot yesterday...MSRP but they re-painted the roof and mirrors and swapped wheels to match my order so I could get a car that was already on its way instead of waitng for the next boat. I'd have to agree with yyc the drive to and from Edmonton wouldn't be worth the hassle to me for $500
