Does anyone know if a shortboard surfboard 6'1" can fit inside a Mini?

I'm really interested in getting a new Mini and was wondering if anyone has tried putting a surfboard inside or anything that long (down the middle or with the passenger seat down)?

Please let me know. Thank you

I have no clue if it will fit but the passenger seat does not lay anywhere near flat when it is reclined. MBE if you flip the rear seats down it would fit or at the very least you could lay the board on its side & have it go between the front seats a bit I would go measure for you but I have a cabrio so I'm not much help.

well the surfboard is definately narrow enough to go down the middle. I'm just not sure if it would be too long....

Wish I could be of more help. Hopefully an R56'er w/a tape measure will chime in soon

This is really the best suggestion. Get OEM racks on the MINI. They are great-looking.

I can measure my 2003 MCS for you, but it's probably not the same as the 2007.

XC Skis

I carried TWO pairs of cross-country skis (212 cm - 7ft long) with TWO pairs of poles (almost 6ft long) in my MINI. Seat pushed back and reclined. Skis fed from the trunk into the car. I would use some softer tissue (a towel of sort) to prevent the rubbing of the ceiling. Other than that - no problem - quite spacious inside.

Hope that helps - MMM
