I saw my first R56 on the road today! It was a Red/Black Cooper S. I saw it coming from a distance and watched it go by. I noticed the lack of plates and the Brecht Mini advertising, then I noticed the headlights...The lightbulb went off as 2007!

So, if you were motoring down Catalina Blvd in Point Loma, San Diego at around 9AM............

 

When you first see them on the road, it doesn't click that it is the R56. The grill is what clued me in.

 

I saw my first R56 in Costa Mesa CA 3 weeks ago on my b-day. it was red with white stripes. What an exciting moment that was! I check out the grill to determine if it's an '07 or an older model.

I like all Mini's, but it's exciting when you see the new models on the road..especially when you're waiting for yours to arrive!

 

I've only seen one R56 up here in Seattle, which is odd...there are four R53s in my parking garage at home, and three more in my parking garage at work.

I've seen several 2007 G35s, and those were intro'd around the same time...where are all you Northwest R56 drivers hiding?

 

I saw my first R56 "in the wild" yesterday very close to home. Yellow MC with black roof. We passed while I was at a stop light. The headlamps gave it away and I was able to confirm by the side lights. No plates and gone before I could catch any more details. It's actually the first MINI I've seen so close to home, it's nice it was the new model.

 

The side markers also give it away quickly. I have seen a Pepper White, Chili Red, and a Lighting Blue so far.

 

I have seen 3 motoring in San Diego, not including the lovely Mellow Yellow in my local club.

 

I've seen none yet....except driving past the dealer.

 

I've only seen two or three, suprosing given that its a much smaller country, the R56 has been on sale for 5 months and they're very popular here.

 

I believe I counted 6 at AMVIV. 3 Mellow Yellows, a Blue with Aero kit and color coded arches, a Sparkling Silver with Redwood which won the car show for the R56 category, and Randy who brought his Chili Red from Colorado!

 

I saw a mellow yellow MC - a Philly Car Share car.

 

I haven't seen any in "the wild" yet... i'm here in San Diego.

 

I've seen no other R56's here. But, there's no dealer here. (Yet, I heard a rumor...)

 

I saw my first R56 two days ago. It was pepper white with the JCW aero kit. I almost crashed because I took my eyes off the road.
