Okla., New Mexico, Ariz. owners -- need your help

Strange request, but here it is:

I'm motoring from Memphis to Vegas starting tomorrow (Monday, March 19). Pretty much I-40 all the way (hopefully no bad weather).

My plan is to stay at Super 8 hotels along the way since they are reasonable and usually clean. Super 8 shows hotels along the route, but it's hard to know how close they are to where I'm heading.

So if anyone in Oklahoma, New Mexico and Arizona can give me advice as to which of the following are closest to the route, I'd appreciate it. Here's the route with Super 8's locations along the way:

Leg 1: Memphis, TN to Oklahoma City, OK

a) Super 8 Motel - OKC/Bricktown/I-35
3030 South I-35
N I-35 Exit 124B at 29th St
Oklahoma City, OK 73129-6632

b) Super 8 Motel Oklahoma Fairgrounds NW
2821 NW 39th Street
Interstate 44 at Exit 124
Oklahoma City, OK 73112 US

c) Super 8 Motel Oklahoma Airport Fairgrounds West
311 S Meridian
Oklahoma City, OK 73108-1011 US

Leg 2: Oklahoma City, OK to Albuquerque, NM

a) Super 8 Motel - Albuquerque East
450 Paisano St NE
I-40 Exit 166
Albuquerque, NM 87123 US

b) Super 8 Motel - Albuquerque/Midtown
2500 University Blvd N.E.
I-25 Exit 227A on Menaul
Albuquerque, NM 87107-1732 US

c) Super 8 Motel - Albuquerque/West
6030 Iliff NW
I-40 Exit 155
Albuquerque, NM 87121 US

Leg 3:
Albuquerque, NM to Flagstaff, AZ

a) Super 8 Flagstaff I-40 Business Loop
3725 Kasper Avenue
Flagstaff, AZ 86004-2310 US

b) Super 8 Motel Flagstaff/Lucky Lane Area, AZ
2540 E. Lucky Lane
Off I-140 Exit 198, 1 Blk N.
Flagstaff, AZ 86004 US

c) Super 8 Motel - Flagstaff West
602 W. Route 66
Flagstaff, AZ 86001 US

then on to Vegas.

thanks!

Did you use Google maps' driving directions to map your route, mini_dreams? You can zoom in on the maps and get a pretty good idea of how close to the interstate the hotels are. Also, when mapping your route, Google maps has a great function that allows you to keep adding the next destination, making it really easy to create your route.

Motel 6's lodgings are very simple, but very clean and super-reasonably priced. Don't rule them out!

Have fun in Vegas!

A quick tip for driving cross country my Dad taught me many years ago (he was a long-distance trucker)..... Always drive through a city and stop on the opposite side.... when you start out the next morning you don't have to fight rush hour traffic through the city....

Have a safe trip and we'll see you at AMVIV!

m d,

It's been 11 years since I lived in OKC, but if memory serves me right, that first location on your list is very close to where Route 40 and I-35 intersect. And it's in the downtown area, with lots of good places to eat, too.

But as Clo suggested, do some research on Google maps or Mapquest and I think your time will be well spent.

Have a SAFE trip !!

I think the S. Meridian Super 8 is probably your best OKC option of the 3 mentioned. Drive safe.

Also, the Meridian Super 8 is on the west side of the city with plenty of dining options around.

Yes! After MINI-motoring cross-country 9 times, that is really a fantastic suggestion!!

Re: the Albuquerque choices; I haven't physically seen a and c but I'm sure they are easy to get to. b) is very near my work and is easy access from I-40. Also a couple of our local club members are heading out Weds AM, so you might hook up with the caravan, if so inclined. I can get you the details if you like.

Wish I could help ya, but I live in Tulsa. The folks from Oklahoma going to Vegas are leaving early Wednesday morning. PM me if you want contact info -- perhaps you could meet up with them.

Have fun!
