MINIs RULE! At the track...
A few of us MINI guys went down to CMP at Kershaw this past weekend, with the Ford Cobra club and had a blast, passing and being passed in the D Class.
Scott Whitehead, a Ford Racing engine engineer, who just left Dearborn for NC and a job with Michael Waltrip's team was there with his wifey's MINI!
He REALLY knew how to hustle that little car around the track!
It was really neat to see and hear some big 'merican iron, too.
Here are some pics. I'll post more as the days progress. We'll start with the MINI shots.

The Vette was coming down the front straight and I believe he had some kind of brake failure on the front. He spun off to the right, went thru one tire wall and ended up in another. All we heard was whomp!............whomp! He was okay. I had watched him spin twice earlier in the day.
The best part? He was Rich's instructor! ;-)
Actually, in this guy's defense, he said he was dialing in a brake mod, and lost 'em at the end of the front straight. When I went through there in my instructor's C4, we were doing about a buck 30, so you can imagine this guy was well into triple digits when he hit that 1st tire wall.
He said he actually thought he was going to hit a "guard tower" nearby and that he took out the little #2 sign, just to add insult to injury.
He really didn't seem that upset. I guess it's all in a day's racing?
