32" TV inside a MINI?!

Anyone think this is possible or have done it before? I need to pick up a TV from my sister, and need to know if it fits inside a MINI!

No way, unless it's a flat panel. A 32" Sony tube TV barely fit in my Festiva and there's a LOT more room in there.

All you have to do is get our your tape measure & find out the size of the box from the store

I think the OP is talking about a CRT, not an LCD...could be wrong, though.

Different beasts entirely, the two are.

I'm guessing that it won't fit...but that really depends on how much you value your interior.

Trade a buddy for his/her SUV for the day - see, there is an actual use for these around.

I heard you can fit a 36" CRT TV with the box.

FWIW, the total cargo space in the R50/53 MINI hardtop with both rear seat backs folded down is 25.5 cubic feet.

I have stuffed an incredible amount of things in both of my MINIs. People drop their jaws in disbelief when they see me loading/unloading the car. I love hatchbacks!

In the MINI you can fit bulky stuff that would not otherwise go inside a full size sedan.

If it's a flat panel, yes. We bought a flat panel, surround sound system, Wii, and couple other things from Best buy, and it all fit. Had to put the TV in first, then slide the surround sound in through the passenger side door and up on top of the TV.

Cathode Ray Tube technology (CRT). Basically a 60 year old technology that has been used on TV sets and computer monitors since the dawn of time.

LCD and Plasma displays are set to replace the reliable but bulky CRT TVs.

FWIW- I got a free 27" Sony CRT that barely fit! And when I say barely, I mean, once inside, I couldn't put my hand between the TV and the interior of the car.

The only way it would fit was face down on the folded seats- NOT a good idea! Being so heavy I had it in there for a week before I could get another person to help me take it out- this tweaked the connection of the motherboard to the CRT and basically broke a perfectly good TV. (Thankfully I've got "people" who fixed it for free! *whew*).

Personally, I suggest finding a friend w/ a truck or larger car. While you may be able to fit it in the MINI, the risk IMO is not worth it.

HTH, irie

That's the main reason I hate CRT TV sets: They are HEAVY and bulky.

You may not only damage the TV but also put scuffs in the interior plastic.
