Group Photo Poll

As in previous years we want to assess the interest in a group photo. Your input will help to determine who we work with and the cost of the photo (if you order one). Please vote in the attached poll

Thanks!

A schedule isn't set yet but I would try to shoot for 1PM shoot on Saturday (May 5th) with a rain backup of Sunday morning (May 6th) around 11AM.

No offense, but as a purchaser I wouldn't want non MINI's in the photo. I even turned down when asked to put my 'counterfeit MINI' that I had to bring last year while mine was in the shop. And it wouldn't matter if it were a Lambo etc. I just wanna see all MINI's.

But I'd be delighted to have you and Kroly join me at my car if ya'd like!

And yes, I'd buy one again for certain and entered that in the poll.

I'm in for one but (no offense to anyone) I also would not want to purchase if it wasn't all Minis in the shot

Any idea of a price point for the purchase of said photo, so I can honestly answer this poll?

Well, all we have are the prices for last year's panoramic photo... obviously the prices are subject to change, depending on whether we use the same photographer or not, and even then, if his prices have changed anyway.

At least it will give you a general idea...

Last year, we took two photos - one with both the MINIs and their owners, and one with just the MINIs.

Here's the pricing that Wagnbat (who organized last year's photo) posted in the MOTD4 forum for them:

10 X 60 inch (approx. size) panorama prints of group with and with-out people.............................$50 each or Both for........$ 85.

10 X 60 in. panorama laminated $60 each or both for........... $105 laminated.

10 X 60 inch Framed and shipped to your door $175 each or Both for .........$295.00

This is last year's pricing for the panorama picture. The other issue in working with George Pearl again is that there are costs incurred outside of the photo that George wants paid. He has asked for lodging, dinners, and some type of expense payment. Since there has been no sharing of revenue with him that leaves these expenses to be paid by some other means.

All that said, I'll be giving George a call this week to see if we can overcome these costs in some way.

Yours was blurry? I didn't get one, so I haven't seen them. Did you contact George to let him know yours was blurry? Maybe it was a printing error? :impatient

I'd definitely be interested in participating in another all-mini panoramic photo. If it's just an ordinary group photo, then I'm not so sure. But if there was something to make it unique and memorable, then I'm all for that.

I voted yes to participation & purchase, although purchase will naturally depend on final price points.

I was in the MOTD3 panoramic photo, but missed out last year... I think I overslept or something. I forget.

Since I may be skipping MOTD6 in favor AMVIV next year (only so much vacation time & $$$ available), I would kind of like a 2nd portrait.

Turnout last year, 2006, was disappointing. Perhaps too many other things going on. The 2005 MOTD3 pic was great - some 247 cars, and we were front row, almost center. We'll stick with that, unless it looks like we'll get as good, or better, a turnout this year.
Prices look high but the final framed & glassed product was well worth every cent. I hadn't heard of the blurry photos.

I've got the 2006 panoramic photo up at my desk. With 100 or so cars, it's great, but it could have been better. I've got a feeling that the weather (almost raining) chased several people away, figuring that it would be canceled.

I got there fairly late, but got a nice spot in the back with a side profile of the car.

My pic was not blurry.

Group Pic Session What Day

Well there it is...what day to take the picture on. I probably cannot make it on Saturday as I have to start back home Saturday morning to be at work on Monday and being an official old person do not do to well on 24 hour drive throughs anymore. Just thinking out loud here...would it be possible to have a pic on more than one day? I know that this might be impossible.
For instance would it be possible to take one after the parade. ( Never been there before so I don't know the logistics. ) Perhaps more than one pic would allow more total people to particape. Regardless of what actually happens, thanks to the people are organizing this event. Most people have no idea what is involved and the amount of time necessary even if you work for some company and get paid for it. I haven't even been there yet but just watching the plannning has been fun. Keep up the good work.

Signed; One old hillbilly who knows good stuff when he sees it.

I wouldn't say blurry as much as over-exposed. The white was blooming. I have both from last year (with/without people).
