It appears that I need to be in New Orleans through April 29-May 2, which means that I plan to drive from Chicago to New Orleans and then drive to the Dragon this year from there.

I plan to drive from New Orleans to Tuscaloosa on May 2 in the late afternoon and then drive in from Tuscaloosa on May 3.

I'm curious if there are any of you who will be driving the same route and approximate time.

 

A few in the Birmingham group are going to the Dragon but I'm unsure when they will be leaving. Bamatt should chime in soon on that. I know our group will be leaving Huntsville around 7 to 8am on the 3rd.

 

Chicago... to Nawlins... to Fontana...

Thank you! Huntsville would be a detour for me but your departure time might actually put you in Hammondville (US 59) about the same time as I would be passing through. It would be nice to have some company through 74E and then up 129.

No problem. They're good fun people so I think you'd enjoy it. They'll be hooking up with the SSM folk in Helen and those people are also cool.

 

Hey Ministi, We have about 8+ coopers so far from GSM going to the Dragon but a caravan hasn't been set quite yet. I know 2 friends and I will be leaving Tuesday the 1st in my mini to drive to Helen,ga and meet up with the SSM crew. If you are are leaving New Orleans on the 3rd to head to Fontana, keep checking our site and once the caravan is set we will have the dates and times each one will leave.

 

Super! 8 is a good number. We have about 8-10 coming out of Chicago too, which of course I'm not driving with now.

I think I am actually going to leave New Orleans on the 2nd and do 50-70% of the drive that night. I'll keep watching the boards and this site and as plans get firmed up maybe caravan with some folks. That would be great and I would enjoy it very much. Thanks for the shout back.
