My tip for Euro Parcel Tray/Shelf installation...
Someone, somewhere said that it was a good idea to pre-screw the bushing before actually installing so that the screw would go in easier. I used a pair of vise-grips and used the actual installation screws, of course.
Ok...next tip I was given was to use tape to hold the blue bushings in place--that failed miserably.
I thought it would be a good idea to use Gorilla Glue to permanently attach the bushings in place, but then I remembered that Gorilla Glue has a NASTY habit of E-X-P-A-N-D-I-N-G and the last thing I wanted was for the expansion to stick to the tray itself, making it damn near impossible to remove in the future, if necessary.
So...THEN it occurred to me that JB Weld would be PERFECT!
I mixed up a tiny amount and applied it to the flat interior part of the bushing, including the "side" that is vertical when in place. I pushed the bushings into place and used a toothpick to make sure that none of the epoxy compound had gotten pushed into the female part of the bushing. I also used the toothpick to make a 45-degree angle on the JB Weld that had pushed out the sides of the bushing so that none of it would touch the underside surface of the parcel shelf and become "welded".
I waited 45 minutes or so for the JB Weld to cure and then it LITERALLY only took me less than 5 minutes to install my euro parcel shelf!
Hope this tip helps anyone else who will be installing their own euro parcel shelf soon!
