The Time Has Come
The Time Has Come
IQQIMINI will soon have a new home.
After 4 years, 90000 miles, Chicago, Atlanta, Baltimore, Detroit, and points in between... the time has come to move on.
I loved IQQIMINI. From the very first mod I ever did on a car (the console cubby) to finally breaking down and pulleying the poor beast, I loved every moment. Even the day my spark plug shot out of the head - funny now that I look back (of course knowing the fix was a $4 thread insert).
3 sets of tires
3 sets of wheels
2 whalens (both custom!)
1 seagull roof graphic (Jonathan Livingston Seagull)
Intake, Pulley, Swaybar
Horns, Taillights, Chrome Grille
1 speeding ticket and 1 TINT ticket
Loads of pictures...
And a little boy named Ben who loves the rides in the 'Cooper'. He's almost too big for the back seat.
So for me, 6'1" 290 (YES 290), an extended cab, long bed F150 is now in the driveway. I am a truck guy at heart, and I have plenty of hauling to catch up on! LOL
This one is almost big enough for my big ol frame. And my old knees - no more crouching down into the MINI. Hallelujah for that.
I will miss the MINI dearly, as will my son and wife. We never identified with a car so much. My folks always talked about their cars (of course they had TR3s and Sunbeam Tigers and such), and now I know why. We'll remember a lot of great things in the 4 years we had the MINI that will be centered around the MINI.
I had so much fun talking MINI here on NAM (like before it was NAM), and met some really cool people.
For the record, I never had it on two wheels and I never had it over 100mph. Except in daydreams!
For those of you that might be curious, I am taking the Whalens to use as conversation pieces or paperweights (they are custom so nobody would want them anyway) and that is it. The rest is history, as they say.
So to my friends at NAM:
Enjoy your MINIs.
Love your families.
Do the right thing.
Watch out for children.
Live with purpose.

Farewell my friend, thanks for relating your experiences in your post. It's sad to see familiar faces leave, but time marches on and there's a good chance that we'll meet again on the Ferrari boards someday.
Good luck sir!
