2007 Spring Food Lion AutoFair April 14
Food Lion AutoFair At Lowe's MS Saturday 4/14
It's Official!
M2C2 has been invited to participate in the AutoFair car show at Lowe's Motor Speedway on Saturday April 14th from 8:00am until 6:00pm.
We have been given space for 20 MINIs to be displayed. The AutoFair will be awarding 5 trophies to the MINIs in our club.
If you have never been to the AutoFair you are in for a treat. More than 150,000 people attend this event over a 4 day period. Please check this link for more information.

This is an honor for our club to be invited to attend this event. We need to fill all 20 spaces. You must be a club member to participate and post here to be added to the list.
An additional perk: Shelley Oliver has invited attendees to the Speedway Club to have dinner following the AutoFair. Good food and a great view of the track. We're only allowed in because Shelley's a member. She's not buying, however. :-) If you're interested please post here and I'll begin a 2nd list.
Please check back for more information.
Here is a link to the map showing our display location at the speedway.

O.K. and as usual I will supply the Bojangles Biscuits so we don't get hungry til dinner time. Bring your lawn chairs, coolers and walking shoes. Don't forget the camera!!!!! Only bringing one Mini since wife will be at doll show in Myrtle Beach that weekend, bah humbug! All you guys in Columbia, Greenville SC, Asheville, Hickory, Raliegh NC are all welcome, its free and you do need to have paid up membership! We will all meet at the StarLight movie theater parking lot between 6:00 and 6:30 and will caravan as a group to the speedway and be in place by 7AM. If you have never done this remember it is all day and no leaving early. People are paying to see our cars. The Throphys are very big and nice!! Bring your cleaning supplies! Just put me down for one Mini Luke
I plan to attend and if we can get a list of folks that want to go to the Speedway Club for dinner, I have a membership as well. Let me know

auto fair spots
I just traded my '06 for a '07 and would like to go to the auto fair with the club if there are still spots open. I look forward to actually getting to go to some events now that I moved back to Charlotte!

That might just happen we may change up the voting if everyone is agreeable. Also Dave hope you get to go out on the track at VIR, done it twice and it was a blast especially oak tree turn straightway then the SSSSS's WHOA NELLY!!!
Based on last year's dinner there was no particular dress code, although it's a swanky joint. I'm guessing mud and grease aren't acceptable which shouldn't be a real problem for us.
Dress Code is simple:
No open toed shoes
Shirt with collar and slacks.
Business Casual is the way to best describe what is appropriate.
Most folks just bring extra's to the show and change before heading up.
Thanks for asking.

Hey you guys! I can't make it so I need somebody to take some good photos to send to Ed for the newsletter, please and thanks!
Be sure to take a pic of the trophy winners with their rides and tell Ed who won what.
If you want to shoot him some comments and interesting stories about the show, too, that would be great.
Good luck, lucky M2C2 participants!

Thanks for the promo guys!!
It's difficult to put stories in the newsletter when you can't attend every event out there.
Anyone who contributes photos, articles or stories to the newsletter directly will get credit for their stuff.
If I have to go digging around the internet and forums to find stuff for the newsletter, I don't have time to figure out who is who by their handle, and they won't get credited.

Autofair
H.A.W.G. just bring it as soon as you can. I suggest AutoBell exterior wash for 6.95 thats what I am doing. Also call for rain so they may be messed up before we get there so we will clean them there. Also get with Chris Diel and make sure he sends you the pass to get in free.
Hi everyone. Hendrick MINI is sending COOP to the Auto Fair so that people can see the new MINI too. We are also sending brochures and business cards. If you spend a lot of time with a person, give them a business card with your name on the back of it. As Art knows from the Charlotte Car Show, we won't forget about you!
By the way, is there a way to have a TV and DVD player there? We could sent the Hammer and Coop DVD to show.
Have an awesome time at the Auto Fair. I wish I could be there. Even though MINIs do sell themselves, someone has to fill out the paperwork!
