I got home last night... I had never been to the Gap before, but discovered it's a mere 3 hours from my house!
Next weekend anyone?

I'll tell ya one thing: I'm not waiting another year before I go back there! I got home around 1:30 and had a great time doing a fully loaded run up the Dragon with koolmini for a great good-bye to Deal's Gap.

Glad to hear ya got home safe and sound! The trip from Birmingham is only about 5 hours, and that includes one run through the dragon! I'd probably jump at the chance to meet up with a small group just about any weekend I can go!

I've safely arrived at Donna/Mike's home in Leesburg, VA, for the next leg of my roadtrip! So....the 3 of us are safe!

It was SOOOOO great to meet all the nice MINIacs that I've been IMing, PMing, and posting with on the MINI sites over the past year or so! Such great people!

Cheers!
Clover

I'd chip in on buying the Tapoco. Much closer to the start of the Dragon, and a bit more charming. . .

Josh, it only took and hour and 20 minutes to get back.

You guys really do need to move here, of course you'd go through tires as fast as I do!

I just got home a bit ago too. My drive home was totally boring, except going thru the Dragon once more Normal roads seem so "pedestrian" now!

Smoochez,

Made it back to Philly last night... about a 12 or 13 hour drive up 81. Much more enjoyable to take the extra time and do the Blue Ridge Parkway over a couple of days....

It was nice meeting some of you folks, and I'm glad we had such a nice turnout!

Ah, you guys had like PERFECT weather for this!

I didn't go due to a couple of things: I still am waiting for the title to come so my car isn't really legal, and the cardboard tags expire on Thursday! No title????

Made it back last night... too late to get a room at school so had to get a Motel 8. Got up and went to classes, and here I am!

I had a really great time, although my car is begging for a wash and some new oil!

It was really cool meeting everyone I had not previously met!

Looking forward to seeing everyones pics!

We made it home in record time as our rental Mitsibishi spyder is less noticable than the Bee

Left Tapoco Lodge at 5 AM Sunday and pulled in the driveway in Ft Walton Beach 1 PM. Had very bad fog for the first 1 ½ hours of the drive and some 45 MPH roads near the end, but still had an average speed of 73.8 MPH.

We got home yesterday evening - everybody was pooped and we've had phone line issues - so we are finally catching up with emails
